Hello.

Guys, I have searched google inside and out and I cant find any help to better point me in the right direction. I have replaced/performed the following: Distributor, Sparkplugs, IACV, Valve adjustment, both oxygen sensors and cat. converter, radiator (bleed the air). 120k miles on original engine.

My car seems to idle normal when I first start it up cold (1500-1700 rpms).

I go to drive it and it seems to still "act" normal, slightly lowering the rpm's to normal as it gets closer to normal operating temperature.

Now, right before reaching normal operating temperature and maybe up to 10 mins after that, as I begin to stop and push my clutch in, my RPM's will go down below 400 RPM's and act as if it was dying of course for about 10 secs then come back up to normal, 750 rpms. If I slightly push the gas pedal and let go my rpm's actually go down for a sec, almost acts as if it was carburated. About 20 mins after reaching normal operating temperature and driving it, this problem seems to go away. No check engine lights since about 4 months ago when I replaced my oxygen sensors and cat.

Any recomendations as to a good starting point? My warm idle valve is screwed all the way in on the TB. To me it sounds maybe like it is a fuel issue, leaking injector maybe causing one cylinder to flood. IDK.

I cant remember the name of it but there is a valve under the throttle body that i took off and cleaned. my car was doing the exact same thing. i cleaned it and it went away.

Thanks for the current suggestions. I replaced the IACV (Idle Air Control Valve) about 2 months ago with a new one. I have recently looked at it, but the screen was clean. I did clean it anyways with carb cleaner. No improvement.

I didnt know the GSR's also had a fast idle thermo valve. My Shop manual says only auto transmissions have it.

did i read correctly that you have the idle screw screwed all the way in? if you do there is no/little air by-passing the throttle plate getting to the iacv which prevents the iacv from effectively doing it's job. back it out at least a half turn.

is this on a bone stock ecu? if it's chipped, it probably needs to be tuned.

Its a stock ecu, only mod is an aem intake. I will recheck my timing then I will do what you suggest, but unplug my iacv and set the base idle by adjusting the idle valve. Thanks for pointing that out.

Correct!

I adjusted my base idle and it still is acting up. I havent replaced my rotor button, so I will try that along with a new cap. Manual Integra's, especially after '96 dont have FITV's. Only the automatic transmissions do.

I also checked to make sure that my secondary runners were not stuck open causing problems, but they open and close over/under 5,500 rpm's like they should.

Okay. I did a base idle adjustment with no improvement. Idle screw is probably about a full turn out after I did the adjustment. I had to order my rotor button and distributor cap as no local store had either. If anything, this may turn into a good troubleshooting post if and after all the usual suspected items have turned out to be okay.
