I never understood the hate for casinos. They are a money printing machine for for the owners, the state and city (through taxes) and they provide hundreds of pretty well paying jobs. The add in the added tourism from the surrounding states and that blow hole of a mayor can quit crying about no money.

I know right! Look at Vegas, Biloxi, Tunica, etc. Those places have people there NON-STOP! I went to Vegas last month and was talking to some regulars. It seemed pretty crowded to me and it was a Thursday. The guy told me "This is nothing. You should see it when it's not as cold out." My jaw dropped. I'd be all about a casino in ATL. Keep me from having to drive 6 hours to Tunica or Biloxi. :goodjob:

Also, why was beer ever banished from Sunday to begin with.

Lastly... I like your sig. I was a Huckabee guy. I am also a huge Boortz listener. FairTax all the way.

They are voting to have casinos in Underground since it's not good foe anything else they have tried. It will probably happen. Dan's stepmom works for the Visitors Bureau at Underground and it is definitely a possibility. It will be video gambling, though. No tables.

If they build one it needs to be a good one. I went to the Indian Casino in NC and it sucked. No alcohol c mon. If they do build one it needs real dealers and lots of games and 24/7 hours. A half ass casino will draw in no people. If the city is serious about it then they need to model Las Vegas and tell all the Conservatives to shut up.

Yeah, Cherokee (up in SC) does suck. No alcohol means more smoke. Also, you can be 18 there not the 21 of normal casinos. Cherokee also does suck because they have table games (21, Pai Gow Poker, etc.) but they are all digital cards which is LAME!

I am a roulette/craps guy. So, Cherokee is dead to me. If the ATL Casino doesn't have real games, I won't even bother. I'll just go to Tunica or Biloxi like I do anyhow.

Yeah for the record if anyone is thinking of going to The harrahs casino in NC. DONT GO. It sucks bad. I smoke and i cough just walking by the place. All digital games no real table games and NO DRINKING at all. So if the ATL lawmakers could look at this as revenue and forget about this being the bible belt, we could give the georgia economy a real boost. :goodjob:

Worst F'n Idea in this economy. People don't gamble when everyone is broke, stupid govt officials.

The Nevada Gaming Control Board reported last week that revenue at the state’s casinos fell by 22 percent in October, compared with the same month last year. It was the 10th straight monthly decline — and the biggest ever.

Thousands laid off as casinos near bankruptcy
For operators of casinos and other gambling concerns, the outlook is as grim as it’s ever been, with executives predicting that no new casino projects will be started for at least five years.
