IA's stance on freakin movies in the sig?

I've noticed that many people on here have animated gifs that are anywhere from 780kb to 8mb in size.

So what is IA's official ruling on this - does IA allow pictures in the signature?
I usually have other downloads going on and the damn threads take forever to load with these stupid pictures taking up bandwidth.

I saw someone's sig that was edited by a mod and it said "no pictures in the sig line". If yes, is there a way to turn it off so that I don't waste my bandwidth on other people's lame pictures?

Not to mention - THIS COSTS IA MONEY to host. Every time someone views a thread with these pictures - 10mb+ is being uploaded for nothing.

also there is a way to turn off sig's, unfortunately you would have to access user cp :lmfao:

Click on Quick links (Next to logout up there) go to Edit Options. Down at the bottom you will be able to uncheck the option to view Signatures.

I agree with OP... there should be a 1mb upper limit (which is plenty, but the extremes ... like dumbass above with the 3500+kb sig with the idiots dancing- which is lame by the way.... is totally fucking up the site for people visiting on mobile, etc... bandwidth, slower computers, everything)

of course turning sigs off will fix it but sometimes there useful info in sigs that you cant see once turned off, just so u can see retarded ass sigs?

You guys are totally missing the point. Its just wasted bandwidth. But who cares, I was able to turn of all sigs, so I'm cool.

The comp isnt slow, its a quad core water cooled gaming PC (Q6600 rocks!).
I have DSL and its not that DSL-lite crap. It tends to slow down because I stream movies to my PS3.

If you have a PS3, check out TVersity - great media server if you want to download torrents and stream them from your PC to PS3 (TV).
