make sure you dont update your itunes to the 4.1.8 or whatever cuz theres no jailbreak for that yet. the most recent one is for 2.2, also you can only jailbreak a 1st gen

wrong, I have 3g unlocked and jailbroken

also ziPhone does not unlock the newer firmaware.

If you using windows you use winpwn

If mac you use quickpwn.

Go to modmyi.com it's a forum for Iphone users, do a little searching and there are plenty of step to step guides to jailbreaking the phones.

I've done a lot to my phone.

Plug it into the computer and sync it with itunes.

*warning it bring your phone back to factory and will no longer be unlocked*

can i reunlock it after that or do i just stay with it on 2.1

Yes you can, but depends on if you have a 2g or 3g on how easy it will be....and if you use windows or mac....

Honestly...2.2 is nothing different then 2.1, actually the 2.2 seems to have to many flaws in it right now, slower keyboard, e-mail does not alert when new one comes in...etc....I'd just stick with 2.1 for a little while longer.
