The whole mma trend started right after the first season of tuf. I was into cage/mma fighting way before that and immediately noticed how everyone started wearing ufc/tapout shirts and walking around like they were professional mma fighters.

Yea I agree that most of these "super fans" never watched it back in the day. I have all kinds of ufc and pfc shit on vhs haha. Actually im guessing most of these d-bags never watched pfc period, which was a lot more fun to watch then the ufc.

It's sad they went under. It was way more exciting to watch then ufc, and more competitive then the ufc is. Im glad to see some pfc fighters being integrated into the ufc. I bet all these ufc nutswingers don't even know who sakuraba is haha.

You wouldn't have said that if you had to sit in the stands with them during the whole event. The part that pissed me off the most were the jackasses yelling "LETS RACE!!" while they were trying to clean the track up after the oil downs. Yeah theres a great idea lets have cars that can barely hook on a sticky track with a 12in slick try to race down a track covered in tranny fluid!!

The thing with UFC is that there is too much hype directed into it. The sport is booming but with them making a new season of tuf and this whole new trend the real sport and admiration of it is slowly fading.

People are NOW watching it because EVERYONE else is.

And Gracie vs Sakuraba was an epic battle. A lot of people probably don't know that about Gracie is that he started out in PFC. And now look at him, a coach on tuf. lol

Haha I know man. Sakuraba Vs. Silva were some epic bloody ass fights, it sucked that Sakuraba never beat him. So many epic fights in Pride that blow anything ive ever watched on the ufc.

Eh...Pride has also put on some freak show fights, but Japan has always been known for that. Shit...K1 still does it! LOL. Anyway, if I see some douche wearing a TapOut shirt, I just ask if they train, and when they say "yes" I say "where?", and if they can even name a place, I'll ask "who it is they train under", which usually throws them for a dumb fucking look. That's my way of weeding out the posers. I was lucky enough to start training before TUF started, so there was a good degree of intelligence in our training rooms. Nowadays, it's like a revolving door. Guys sign up, and then just never show up again. Oh well, Pride will forever live in my DVD collection.

Hey you two, hop off of your high horse and get back down here on solid ground. The reason people watch it now is because it's easily accessible. I had seen a little Pride and UFC before it gained serious popularity, but I wasn't really a follower. I'm sorry if the fact that I'm a much bigger fan now (since I don't have to buy greatest knockout tapes on late night infomercials anymore just to watch it) offends you. That being said, I don't, and likely never will own any item of clothing that relates in any way to MMA.

Also, not that a lot of people realize it, but Saku actually fought in the UFC. Mainstream/Post TUF viewers don't really know any history though. Sakuraba's roots are pro wrestling, and that's how Pride was formed, so that's how he made his way into Pride.

I know he has fought in the ufc before:goodjob: Anyways though, I was at taco mac the other night, and every fag in there looked the same. They were a bunch of dbags with sideways hats half the time, with tapout shirts or affliction, and all seriously looked like one inbred family. This was at the taco mac in woodstock. Sad sad sad.
