ebay turbo kits...

Main problems are:

1. Manifolds cracking. ( That one is cast iron, so you don't have to worry.)
2. Premature bearing failure in the turbo. (Run synthetic oil, tune it (so EGT's are ideal), and follow proper shutdown and start-up procedures and you won't have to worry about this either.)
3. Turbos coming apart internally (Stay under 15 psi and you won't have to worry about this.

Fuck everyone's horror stories about ebay kits. If you take care of them, keep the engine tuned properly, and keep them on low boost, they are fine.

this has been covered like 8.6million times. their tubular manifolds sucked assbut everything else for the most part is descent. ive heard that if u use the oil restrictor the turbos will last.

I'm running an Ebay kit at 12 PSI on my B20. I love it. The only thing i've changed is to put a garrett compressor side, and center section on it.

I only did that because I got the garrett free, and it was a bigger compressor. I'd have kept the ebay section in the center, aside from the compressor housing didn't fit.

I'm having no problems at all with it.

thats about right, i had a ebay kit, and only issues was the manifolds cracking, wastegate leaking, turbo took a shit when i went over 10lbs.. But it was being ran @ 6lbs for the longest and it ran perfectly fine. But as soon as it went up to 12-15+ it took a shit..lol But well worth it.

On the other hand, if you are patient and look around, you can piece together all the parts for a similar price and have good parts rather than shitting China stuff. It just takes longer and more work than just clicking the ebay buttons.

That place for example is a good tool. It searches all the craigslists nationwide. Lots of deals on parts for quality items. Then there is always the flea market on here, club civic, and honda tech.
