The AE86 is an underpowered, understeering scrapheap. They're used for drifting because, like the 240SX, they're cheap and perform like absolute @ss. I've driven a handful of AE86's and have been underwhelmed by all of them whether stock or tuned. You've got to be a Clutch Kick Commando to do anything with it.

the guy Cliff that i sold it to ended up selling it because he was unable to source a raw fuel smell when the tank was more than half full....he sold it to a guy off mr2oc from Miss. I went through the entire fuel system before i sold the car to relieve the same issue.....after some brainstorming with the new owner i figured since everything from the fuel pump to the injectors had been replaced by brand new OEM toyota parts that it had to be something simple.....i suggested the charcoal canister.....it completely fixed it.....that was awhile ago, who knows if he still owns it now. car was a champ with that 20valve/blacktop ecu/header/Strong Racing (header->back) koni yellows/HKS springs/kbox f/r sway bars and the miata hollowspoke/potenza combo. it still has some electrical issues....but other than that it was mint..i should have kept it

i swear to god, one fo the previous owners had their first attempts at wiring something into the car with the foglight.....there was about a 1/2 mile worth of wire just tucked up under the dash and 80% of it went to nothing :lmfao:


also, my stock radio caused and electrical fire in the dashboard that almost ended the cars life.....that was scary shit being on 400 doing 70 mph and seeing red flames and smoke coming out of the air vents and radio surround :lmfao:

Hashino Racing wheels where solely created for low horsepower road racing in Japan and that wouldn't have been successful without the AE86.

No fanboy here, but the reason why the AE86 is unappreciated in America and especially Atlanta, is because there are no "touge" I mean the nimbleness of Corollas with simple suspension upgrades can out handle a lot of vehicles. If we did have free race tracks, or simple curvy roads, where people would race their pretty much stock cars, the AE86 would be a lot more popular, i mean, if people can get props for having a b18 in their civic hatch running 14s in a straight line :screwy: then why cant the corolla get props for being nimble around the turns? They are really fun cars.

And just to let you know, a Corolla won Formula D Vegas in 2008 against a 800whp Viper. Rhys Millen, the series champ couldn't keep up with him and took his car into the wall. The potential of these cars are extremely high if you know what you are doing, but most of the haters don't even know how to drive a rear wheel drive in the first place I'm guessing. :rolleyes:

And Miata < Corolla simply because the horsepower and wheelbase are pretty much the same, but unless that bitch is hard top, Miata is the gayest thing ever. Not even faded paint, stock wheels, and a roll bar could make a Miata look masculine. Hardtop and low offset wheels are a must before you even start talking down on anyone else's ride.

Im sorry but the corolla was an extremely good racecar back in the day, competing against Silvia s12s and rotaries.

I mean...

Hashino Racing wheels where solely created for low horsepower road racing in Japan and that wouldn't have been successful without the AE86.

No fanboy here, but the reason why the AE86 is unappreciated in America and especially Atlanta, is because there are no "touge" I mean the nimbleness of Corollas with simple suspension upgrades can out handle a lot of vehicles. If we did have free race tracks, or simple curvy roads, where people would race their pretty much stock cars, the AE86 would be a lot more popular, i mean, if people can get props for having a b18 in their civic hatch running 14s in a straight line :screwy: then why cant the corolla get props for being nimble around the turns? They are really fun cars.

And just to let you know, a Corolla won Formula D Vegas in 2008 against a 800whp Viper. Rhys Millen, the series champ couldn't keep up with him and took his car into the wall. The potential of these cars are extremely high if you know what you are doing, but most of the haters don't even know how to drive a rear wheel drive in the first place I'm guessing. :rolleyes:

And Miata < Corolla simply because the horsepower and wheelbase are pretty much the same, but unless that bitch is hard top, Miata is the gayest thing ever. Not even faded paint, stock wheels, and a roll bar could make a Miata look masculine. Hardtop and low offset wheels are a must before you even start talking down on anyone else's ride.

they are completely different chassis's...notice the "AE86" so commonly used...that’s a chassis designation you worthless troll.....notice its not the same as "AW11".....they are NOTHING alike......also, they are close...but the MR2 is actually heavier.....mostly due to the strengthening/reinforcing of the chassis.....something that has to be done aftermarket on a corolla if looking to exceed 200whp lulz

The fact is, they aren’t just the same car with different layouts...the MR2 was designed as a MR car....not the other way around. If you were to swap the motor in the corolla to the rear, obviously it wouldn’t handle the same....as it wasn’t designed that way

Yes, actually it would...as MR2 is pronounced "emm are two"....unless written as M.R.2 and pronounced "midship runabout 2 seater" an "an" is used. "An" is used before all words/abbreviations/acronyms with an initial vowel sound, such as the "e" sound in "MR2" :D
