Eh, it would take a disillusioned die hard to not be able to admit that this entire season for UGA has been a disappointment. I am a UGA fan, but I can take an unbiased look at the team, and all this season I've been saying the same thing. When they were winning, they still weren't impressive. Nowhere near the explosiveness of teams like Florida, and the pass rush has been god awful... I watched the game on Saturday fully accepting the fact that they might just get killed by GT, and it happened. 200 rushing yards in the 3rd quarter alone... How can you not fire Willie Martinez?

onto the thread topic, and being a HUGE dawgs fan....i cant argue that we didnt have a great season...we were embarrassed by the 3 teams we lost to, though we werent the only highly over rated team...poor tommy tuberville...Tech fans finally have something to cheer about...in the last 7 years :dunno:

How can you not fire Willie Martinez?
As Lee Corso would say "Not so fast my friend". Martinez wasnt the problem in the GT game. On every big play he had players is a position to make the play but they didnt make it. The only ones you can put that on is the players.
1 thing I have noticed all year from UGA. They cannot defend smashmouth football. Their D line is too small and they tire too quickly to play for 60 minutes. Their LB's are also too small to play smashmouth football. Take their speed away by running right at them and they are getting pushed around.

I'm going to have to disagree, martinez in almost 90% of the problem and has been since the 2001 vandy game and music city bowl...what about the 2006 sugar bowl??....This entire year we have been completely crushed defensively.....we had no answer for alabama, UF or Tech. Tech didnt even have to pass the ball a single time the 2nd half.....What about the 26 unanswered points in the 3rd qtr? that says more about a lack of half time defensive coaching than anything.....we have the talent, albeit there are quite a few injuries....its the coaching of said talent that is lacking. look at teams like TTU with half the recruited talent we have or hell what about Cincinnati? they have hardly anything outside of 3 star talent and dont make the mistakes UGA has all year. Coaching wins games, period.

You didnt even make the Joke of an ACC championship this year....as "flop" as you might want to percieve the Dawgs as, you're still only playing in the Chickfila bowl against a freshman talent squad from LSU. (who we even rolled over)

also, the preseason #1 ranking was by a fan poll done by ESPN and the coaches poll....it had nothing to do with actual BCS rankings. It was more of a prediction based off of the previous seasons accomplishments. this time last season we were the team NO ONE wanted to play...FACT! No we didnt live up to those expectations, but tell me what team in college football starts out preseason #1 and finishes there...i'll bet you, you could count them on one hand ;)

Despite my extreme hatred for UGA and their fanbase(yeah, fuck you Sport) I feel bad for them. I think UGA is pretty much always a better team than their record shows, they just never get it together throughout a whole season. Maybe some coaching changes are in order.

Coaching didn't lose the game I am sorry. Lack of tackling did. The one photo above about tackling... How do you come from the side, at the sideline, and not push him out of bounds is behind me. roflmao Maybe the overall scheme was bad but damn. You have to make plays on the field. Coaches can't do that.

They flopped HARD this year. Same as they have the past couple of seasons. Big talk preseason and lots of trash talk up until the first lose. Then you get a little more quiet. I am surprised, I guess it is the love of Richt, that people don't want him out. UGA is the SEC's "Just not quite enough" every season right now.

Almost 19 yrs ago, i know well your standing record. That national title also came after 2 horrible previous seasons (7-4, 3-8) and 2 yrs after a 2 win season (2-9)...or maybe the 8-5 season the year after lol. Also, don’t forget you share that 1990 NC title with Colorado. I'm not sure you want to compare other overall records, you might lose ;) . I'm not doubting your ball clubs talent, just pointing out the fact that we are no more a Flop team in recent years than Tech is.

Again, it is complete lack of coaching here. there was ONE tackle in mind that should have been made that was a players fault directly (oddly enough the most publicized one), the rest were pour alignments and a severe lack of understanding exactly how to defend the triple option...You also have to take into account the motivation the players had, when NOTHING we were doing or being told to do was stopping your forward progress in the 2nd half...you cant seriously tell me that once we had stopped all progression of the option in the 2nd qtr going into half time that we just all of a sudden forgot how to tackle lol. Tech constantly kept us in a state of misalignment and played the option almost to perfection..not to mention the blocking was A+. Really I give it up to you guys .....the fact that we still played man to man, still maintaining deep coverage instead of pulling more guys in at the line when you hadn’t passed the ball in almost 2 qtrs, was beyond me.....there was no heavy blitzing that UGA is known for, No penetration whatsoever, and we might as well have been blind on the play reading..(you ran the same EXACT play non-stop)...Bobo has been in question since he took over as DC, he hasn’t produced results, He has to be taken out

we've been to 2 sugar bowls in 4 yrs, not near as bad as tech has performed this past decade.....but i agree, we did fall apart this season.

again, if you're up to it we should all watch the SECC game somewhere....since we all seem to be the only ones that care about football enough to post about it :D
