ECU computer language

Anybody able to answer this, please do as its for my programming class. Do most of the programs written for ECU's (as I call them) written in high-level program language compiled, interpreted or low-level?

I would say disregard this question, cuz I think I found a crediable answer. But if someone does come up with a good answer, that'd be nice. I'm lookin more for Admin, as he kinda does this stuff.
