Hey yall, looks like ima be postin here more often but anyways i got a 1990 vw fox not too long ago. The night i was bout to install my springs my baby started acting funny. On cold start up it takes for ever to start, it also sputters and is losing power. To drive it, i have to floor it, doing this it runs halfway decent. Whenever i let off the gas i get like a popping sound, not a backfire but some poppin. I replaced the dist. cap, wires, plugs, fuel filter, and i did a fuel pump swap with one i pulled from the junk yard and still same problem. I dont know what to look at anymore. I see no signs of vacuum leak. I bought a rotor button but it was the wrong one, i compared it to the one i had and mine looks like its in good shape. Could it be bad and worn out? Maybe something i cant see? Just curious as to what the vw guys thought.
