Not an import but I sold my 94 si hatch to get it if that counts! Calm down I have another hatch or two around!

Its a 1962 Ford Falcon Wagon.
It still has a working rear power window!

Haven't figured out what all I want to do to it yet but it will have bags!

Why did you strip the paint?

Anyways you also need a roof rack, that would really set it off.

Boo hiss. Way to ruin an awesome car. Airbags are for full size trucks and Honda owners that perpetrate. That car is asking for no less than the "juice." Later, QD.

If you're gonna go V8 go with a 351 Cleveland.:ninja: It won't fit because of the strut towers, but if you are doing bags you're probably going to cut the strut towers out anyway.

I am assuming that the car is either a 144 or 170 straight six (the V8 wasn't available in a Falcon until '63). Contrary to what anyone on here will tell you, the sixes are not bad motors when done right. There are a couple of guys on the Falcon forums who are in the 10's using pretty simple/cheap turbo setups. There's a lot of room in the engine bay for a turbo with the straight six. There are also plenty of upgrades (carb, cam, ignition) that you can do using junkyard parts.

Let me know if you need any help or parts. I have a '62 Falcon 2 door myself. :goodjob:

Or you could go all out and import one of these motors from Australia:

Im currently installing a 250 6 and a c4 tranny for a more reliable ride than the 2 speed ford-o-matic tranny that came with it.

next thing i want is the mustang II suspension with airride.

then maybe down the road sometime a 5.0 FI HO motor????

thanks for the positive comments! didnt think i'd get any at all here.

I didnt strip the paint, that is a pic of one I found on the net to show the rims I want!

I want to paint it either hot rod flat black with a flat white roof and red smoothies or baby blue like the wheels you see with a white roof and the baby blue smoothies!

.

A 250 sounds like a good plan, with 9:1 compression and a few bolt ons you'll have nearly as much torque as a V8. Not to mention the durability of a block with 7 main bearings. :goodjob:

The hood clearance will be close and the bellhousing will probably be close to the firewall as well. The best thing about the 250 (other than about 40 ft. lbs more torque) is that it has the same bellhousing pattern as the V8. So you could put an AOD or a T5 behind it and have a good setup for the highway. The C4 is a great transmission but on the highway I feel like I need higher gearing. With a 200/C4/3.10 rear end I turn 3k at 70mph. If I had a 3.00 or a 2.79 it wouldn't be so bad I guess but it'd be a dog off the line.

Do you have a crossmember for the C4 swap already?

Why bags? If you're trying to "gangster" your car, you'd go with hydraulics. Later, QD.

All '60-'65 straight six Falcons (and Mustangs, same platform) came with 4x114.3 from the factory. So one could run "Mad tyte JDM Dorifto spec rimz" if one were so inclined. I am thinking of getting a set of 15x6 steelies from an S-12 200sx myself. :ninja:

The 63-65 V8 cars have better steering geometry, a more heavy duty steering linkage, and common Ford 5x114.3 bolt pattern.

In '66 they switched the Falcon to a shortened version of the Fairlane chassis and they switched platforms again in '69 so I don't know much about the suspensions in the '66-'70 cars.:???:

I have a crossmember from the granada the c4 came from. I dont know if it will work but I found one at falconparts.com that is prefabbed for it though. I got a deal on the 250 and the c4 together so thats why I have a c4. Its good to know a aod will bolt up to the 250 though. it would definatley be nice for cruisin.

Not trying to "gangster" my car. I like air ride for ride quality and stance purposes between driving and cruising.
sorry for any confusion when I said gangster white walls.

Total_Blender

Yeah, the Falconparts.com crossmember is a good piece according to everyone on the forums. I drew up some plans and had a buddy fabricate mine. If you want to keep the column shift you will need a c4 detent plate and indicator lens you can get from Falconparts too. And you may have to change some wires around to get the neutral safety switch/back-up lights to work right. Its all easy stuff though. :goodjob:

Falcon Enterprises (Falconparts.com) is a great source for parts, they will never steer you wrong. Another good source is Classic Inlines, http://www.classicinlines.com they make a sick aluminum head for the sixes, they have all sorts of other stuff too.

Has the car been converted from generator to alternator yet?

Did that Granada still have the brakes and rear end on it?

Are you on any of the Ford forums? I'm on TFFN.net (the Ford Falcon News), FordSix.com, and the H.A.M.B

SDBCIVIC
12-03-2008, 04:50 PM
If you still have the drawings I could make my own. I work in maintenance in a manufacturing facility and have access to all the tools for the job!

the car has a gm alternator and dont have any thing else from the granada.

im on the hamb but not very often and fordforums.com i check it some because I have a post in the falcon section.

Not if you're a true lowrider enthusiast.

And to SDBCIVIC, I can understand the ride comfort level (a little) but the same stances can be obtained with juice as well. Later, QD.

What part of town are you located in? I'm in Athens myself, but I usually spend my weekends in Cartersville. I'm going to be putting my Falcon in storage this weekend untill I can save the cash to rebuild my C4 and restore the suspension.

I already started swapping parts on the engines. just have to buy the tranny parts to install, then have a driveshaft made.

Whats your timeline for having it done? If I need a shortened driveshaft made for the T-5 / 8" rear swap I will have mine up for sale. Mine was professionally done, it still has the sticker on it from the place that built it.

I doubt I'll know about the driveshaft before February though, I am going to start collecting parts but I won't have everything untill I get my taxes back.

SDBCIVIC

yeah im looking at tax time too probably. im trying to buy a little at a time.

this one looks smooth as well dont know how the rear wheels fit in the little bitty fender well but i got pics of the inside and it dont look tubbed! i have lots of pics of these cars from the net. :blah:
