Love it! Both the sedan and coupe are fly imo. Only bad thing I've got to say about the coupe is its weight. Somewhere around 3,500 lbs from the multiple sources I've read. It should be like 3,000 lbs or so, imo. But oh well, can't win them all...

Looks great and the specs also looks great. But considering its a new car that isn't available yet, I think it's too soon to see how well it'll really do.

Question is though, how many of you would really buy this car if you were in the market for a sports car?

A RX-8 isn't really competition for it, The V8 Camaro, V8 Challenger, 370z, and G37 are all going to be at least $5k+ more than the v6 G Coupe.

Base 2.0T G Coupe is going to be right around $21k. In that area its competition is Civic SI, VW GTI, Mazdaspeed 3, Cobalt SS, etc.

I'd still take a 2004 SC430 over this if I had to take this in automatic.

The price difference is just because, alas, it is not at the level of Lexus perfections. Still out of class for the Solora and Accord coupe and nowhere near as sexy as the new Challenger or Camaro. The insurance and pricetag on this thing are going to still make this car just another Hyundai....but atleast it will be one worth test driving.

It created a huge halo and sold out its limited production run its first 5 years. Now its pretty much special order only. FWIW, I am not a huge fan of the car, only modded. Its a great GT though.

I mean 1% of buyers will compare a used SC 430 to this. 80% will compare this to the Accord/Pontiac G6/Atima/Solara coupes as well as 3 series, G37 and 1 series.

Clearly you have not read the specs, or seen that Hyundai is PROMOTING aftermarket support.

Respect is EARNED, not given. Hyundai still has a LOOOONG way to go though it has made up time quickly.

FYI, my car my first year in college was a Hyundai Scoupe Turbo. A total POS. Worst car I have ever owned. It scarred me so bad, I went to Lexus next and never looked back.

Even as I love this new Genesis coupe, I don't think I can give Hyundai my business b/c of how crappy the scoupe was and how crappy the dealerships were.

I don't care what anyone says. The new G-Coupe is going to change the playing fields dramatically.

Think about it, all the Tuscani people will most likely progress to this new car. Then if you can't afford a G37 coupe, you'll be able to afford the new Genesis Coupe and it looks very classy, just like the infiniti.

It's safe to say that you'll also get some 350Z/370Z converts as well, since the price will be a little less. Hell maybe you'll even get a few domestic conquests also. All in all, i think that this Genesis Couple will be the best thing to happen to Hyundai since the Tuscani. You can't beat the platform, RWD and 300+hp at an attainable price! Not to mention a 10 year/100k warranty, no one can come close to this.

Lets face it, Hyundai isn't the car company that it was in the late 80's. They are on par with the Japanese, and are closing in fast. Their reliability has improved 10 fold. (I'm sure that some Hyundai Tib Fanboys can back me up on this).

I think it was SEGA that said it best "Genesis Does, You can't do this on (insert car brand here)!!!!!!!!"

It looks nice, expecially with BBS, but i think that people are getting a little too hyped up. Theres alot of rumors surrounding how "badass" this is going to be, but saying its going to be the best car in its class i have to disagree with, or how its gonna shit all over G37's i disagree with that also. Its the first year production model, hyundai's cars have been total fail for some time now. Yet everyone is coming in here calling everyone ignorant when NOBODY has even seen one in person, let alone driven it. Props if it does well, but im not gonna hold my breath.

I completely agree with you on this.

The car does look pretty freakin clean on all of the wheels. Hell I'd love to drive one, but I would like to wait and see how the reliability is going to be. The idea of the car is awesome, but we'll see how it goes in the long run.

Keep the pictures coming! I like em! :goodjob:

I'm not gonna call you ignorant lol, but what is your basis for making that statement? I'm pretty sure you haven't owned one.

My main reference was the 130hp turbo scoup'e. And what i meant in general was the fact that they werent so much a "high end" car line. I used to work at a general repair shop, and when they came in for repair everything was always cheaply made and poor quality, for example it seemed if a regular car came in and needed basic brakes, a hyundai would need brakes, would have seized wheel bearings, blown struts, seized calipers and have only 50k miles.then they produce one car since then that seems formidable but people make claims that its going to be "the best car in its class". I didnt mean to offend you.

You didn't offend me bro. After driving a hyundai for 5 years, your skin gets pretty thick. The Scoupe came about in the early 90's. Hyundai isn't the same car company they used to be. A decade can make a big difference -- just look at Michael Jackson lol.

The best statement in this hold thread. Let's just give the car a chance.
