As gross as the title sounds, here's the deal

For a good while now, a wisdom tooth has been ever so slowly pushing its way up through the gumline. Lately, it's been really itchy/sore, in addition to it bleeding, and sometimes an odd tasting fluid.

I'm concerned that I may have a bacterial infection that got in under the gum flap :( ( it's pretty unavoidable from what I've read )

I know I know, go see a dentist ( no dental insurance atm ), just wanted some input and opinions first.

Usually when anything is infected there are side-effects such as itching or swolling, soreness and bleeding. Seems to me like you know exactly what's wrong with you. Your gums are fucked and your breath probably stinks like shit. Go see a dentist even if you don't have insurance.

Either that or look online and see if your gums can be put in a certain catagory. Maybe gingivitis?

go see a dentist. it might cost some now, but if you wait and the infection spreads and gets in your body you are in for a world of hurt and a lot more cash.

DUDE, if you can't go to a dentist now rinse with saltwater and hydrogen peroxide religiously!

My Mom had her wisdom teeth pulled 2yrs ago and afterwards her gums got infected.. Not really knowing it spread and caused alot of problems with her body. Was in the Hospital alot and they finally found out what was wrong with her after taking her galblatter out, for no reason after we found out what it was, and over $100,000 in medical bills. So keep waiting around and wind up spending alot more money.

I think its infected. I had a wisdom tooth which I left alone for a week, it got infected then I finally went to go get it taken out. He took out all the pus and prescribed me some antibiotics and that was that.

Go soon!

Checked with my pops and turns out I'm still covered under the dental insurance due to school ( phew )

Yeah, I also realized my cheek is also sort of torn up. Plus, one side of my mouth could smell clean, the side im worried about smells like that plaque shit

dental insurance is a joke. you got about 3 times a year. yet you pay 40 to 80 somthing every pay check.... it costs 140 to do a or as many fillings as needed. cleaning is like 80. think about it you have a filling maybe!! once a year most of the time your just getting a cleaning. call one and see how much. or just go. the worst thing is you have to make a payment.

that def sounds like an infection to me. if i were you i would brush (your gums and everything) with listirine (strongest one is mint) after you brush your teeth with regular toothpaste.

if that doesn't work, please PM me and i will forward you to a few good family dentists....

lol, i sound like a hygenist.

Go to WebMD! The system will tell you the problem from "oh, that's all" to "ZOMG you're gonna die"

That is all.
