Trying to decide the color for my car. My main option is to go with the factory color which is Mantparnasse Blue Metallic. But recently I wondered about going to use a 2009 paint color. Being that 2009 my car will be 30 years old, I thought maybe I could use a factory Honda blue color from that year. The 2009 color choices are:

Atomic Blue Metallic

Royal Blue Pearl

Dyno Blue Pearl

I'm kind of leaning towards the first one. Later, QD.

also liking the first one even tho the 2nd and 3rd pic are pretty dark so imo its hard to see the paint for what it is

in other words... i just see blue lol

First one, no doubt! The CVCC will be riding hot, or cool in this case! lol

That's another reason for my liking the first one. I don't care for the dark blue colors. Later, QD.

i like the element because i dnt see too many cars with that color or close to it. plus i like darker colors anyway (and i say this with a mostly white car), just incase i have to creep up on a fool set trippin in my hood. lol!!!

I've pretty much talked myself out of anything dark blue and the majority of the responses helped support that decision, man. Just too dark. Now any shade of blue is my favorite color, but for this car, I think I want it to be a lighter shade to be somewhat close to the stock color from '79. Later, QD.

very well. either stick with the OE paint or something VERY light and similar. maybe the Sazuka blue thats been mentioned above. i would not stray too far from the OE color though. im just afraid that if you go too far from OE it would take away from the car and its dated feel.

The Atomic blue does look good... I'm not sure how it would look on the cvcc... It also depends on how much you are looking to spend. I know you have the money, but it's how much you want to spend... If you do change the color then it'll cost more cause you have to have the jambs painted and the engine bay, which can be tedious... But which ever way you go, i'm sure fresh paint will make the car stand out a lot more. Keep us posted whichever one you decide to go with.

I've already got my quote and all. And I'm not going to do the jambs. That's another reason I want to stick as close to the stock color as possible. I'm going to take my car up to the Honda dealership this afternoon to see what's up with that.

I agree with you, as well, Professor. Later, QD.

You've spent alot of time coming up with some hard to find period correct parts, so I would go with the factory color. Especially if you are not going to do the engine bay and jambs. I've got some old ppg paint books that will cross factory color codes into ppg code #'s and then they can be cross referenced to other paint companies formula codes. (most shops these days access the codes through a computer, and none of the computers I've used go back past 1984 for imports. Holla at me whenever your ready to paint it and I'll help you with the color.)

Thanks man. I did go up to the Honda dealer today to look at all their color options in the blue range and have decided to:

STAY STOCK COLOR!

Lolol. I'll be hitting you up here in the next day or so, Dave. Later, QD.

So, it this pretty much all you have left that you want to do to the CVCC? Or you have more plans for it, also?

This will wrap up the outerior of the car. I have everything for the interior (except floor carpet). I have sourced the carpet, brand new, for the car so I will be ordering that between now and January. I also just need to get the radio/satellite installed and seats redone. Then I'll be done. It's not going to be a top-notch restore, but it will be very presentable. I should be pretty much done with the car, wholly, by February. Later, QD.

If your not going to do jambs then I would only suggest staying with the stock color but it would be really cool to do the entire car Atomic Blue if your having second thoughts about spending the extra time and money.
