So my dad just told me that one of the local speedways (oval track, and i can't remember which one) was just bought out by some rich guy that my dad knows. They are extending the track to a 3/4th mile track and after they have completed all the improvments they are going to have it open to street cars to do lap times and race two cars at a time for a certain amount of laps (3-5 laps). I'm just posting this on here to see what peoples reactions are.
I'm definitly down to do this a few times during the summer

Oval track racing > Street Racing at least. Wish we had a nice small road course somewhere on the Northwest side of town that was open fairly regularly for club use and such. Bah, I just need to bite the bullet and get a car and get my SCCA Regional liscense.

lap times on a 3/4th mile track? Sounds like timing around a parking lot around an office building. That's about 1/2 as long as Talladega and that's not even a real track.

How much is it to race and have anyone been out there, or if someone wants someone to go out there with them.......

I'm not sure of prices yet, and they haven't even updated the track yet.

Screw that. Let's get a water truck and use the oval for what it's good for

Yes lets use it as a huge watered down skidpad, last IA member not in the wall wins.

That usually works better on flat surfaces.. FYI.

i'm all for the slick track idea. hell its not a bad idea in the first place to have an oval track. something different. im getting bored of the straight 1/8 or 1/4s.
