that car's gone and he's on to a new build and back in a t/a too :cheers:

drag racing and bangin gears gets very hard to do when you start goin really fast...just unloads the chassis too many times down the track. hunter went a best of i think 10.6 on a 6speed and 9.18 on the auto right out of the box. clark went i think best of 9.8 or 9.7 but could never get really consistent with it. switched to an auto and went 9.10 on his very first pass with the auto and now runs consistent 8.7's or 8.6's with it :2cents: not saying it cant be done, it's just very hard and even tougher to do it consistently :cheers:

Alright here is how it went down. Track was cold and NOBODY was there. 20 cars at the most. People were at or watching the Bama/Florida game. So they only opened 1 lane. Well we needed to race our race so Jason opened the other lane for us to have our race. The reaction times were about the same but my taller slicks hooked better and I pulled out hard on the Supra. By the 60' I was 1.5 car lengths out. By the 330 mark I was out another half car for a total of 2 lengths. By the 1/8 the Supra started its pull. I was watching the mirror and saw him reeleing me in. I thought something was wrong with the car but my data log showed later that my car was fine....the Supra just had a hellacious top end charge. At the 1/4 stripe we were basically dead even. I couldnt tell who won. Go to get my slip and the timing shack said the clock didnt work right for that pass and we got no slip. So for now I will be satisfied to call it a tie.....dunno how Nevrnuftorq saw it but it was a good race.

isounds like a tight race, i believe the supra was trappin high 130s at sdr, so i acstually thought you would pull him up top because doesnt your t/a usually trap low to mid 140s

here is the real story. No cars were there....MAYBE 20 so left lane wasnt even open. We never got to line up. my car ran well. Nevrnuftorq had no nitrous and low bottle pressure which KILLED his 60' times. He had some good passes considering the atrocious 60 foot times but we both new he left a lot at home with no spray. David is my best friend and I love him like a brother. I just started the smack talk for us to add in the fun. He actually loaned me his enclosed trailer to haul my turd in. MUCHO thanks for that David. We had a great time and 2 of our crew got a new best!!!

On 8 psi it made 749 rwhp--757 rwtq
On 9 psi it made 780 rwhp--783 rwtq
Both were at 13 degrees of timing. We planned on going up in boost and tuning more to get those numbers up but my roadrunner was acting nutty.

Went to MCE day....tried to launch at 9 psi...3500 rpms and broke the spider gears in the posi which then locked the rear and caused the driveshaft to break.

Came home and installed a Strange spool.
Yesterday we hit Steele. First pass I try to launch at 5 psi....target boost for run was 8 psi. Slicks at 17 psi hot. I didnt do a proper burnout...got one tire hotter than the other and learned quickly what that causes with a spool. 14.5 @ 124

Next pass turned the 2-step down to 3000 rpms. Launch boost was 2 psi and target boost was 10psi. Slicks at 15 psi hot. Spun a very small amount. Results were much better

Last pass I left tires (15psi hot) and 2 step alone (2 psi)......target boost was set to 12 psi. Car didnt spin any. Ran well for a new best of 9.59 @ 144

Next time out I will try a little more boost and a harder launch. I think my goal of 9.3x is certainly obtainable. many thanks to the whole MSS crew.....especially Nevrnuftorq!!

my 9.9 pass was a 1.59 60' just a reference

guess i'll have to try to back that up next year though....but all in all, my move to slicks did what i wanted and that was to still run a 10 even if i had a crappy launch and they did it so i'm thrilled about that!!! :cheers:
