I have heard some whisper about that KB setup. It would truly be nice, but I really dont want anymore than what the Procharger will give me. I dont want to build the block or anything else. Just a bolt on blower that will put 550 at the rear tires is good enough for me. :D Another reason I wouldnt go with that magna or KB is the high rise hood; personally I dont like it. Amazing power though. Gonna pay off some bills then get the kit. Install looks pretty straight forward for the most part so I am going to do the install with the help of a friend I am sure;). With my LT's it should easily make 550rwhp. :eek:

I for one can't understand how these guys with 04 and 05 vipers are losing to much slower cars. I mean Motor trend got an 11.7@124 out of a 2004 srt-10 viper. I know this 240 is quick but i know its nowhere near that kind of power. I guess we can chalk it up to bad drivers. Nice kill though...lets see those vids. :)

I can and will label him a shitty driver until he learns how to drive right. Not knowing how to drive includes taking forever to shift, not knowing which gear to start in, etc. I don't believe any of us v8 and v10 guys on IA think we are unbeatable. I dont think there is anything mystical about the civics because I have personally seen them run along with most of the IA crowd that goes to the track.

Why do you compare a xxx,xxx supra to your friends viper like the amount of money spent makes it an unfair comparison, if so than your friend has well over 100k in is viper and I have a grand total of 7k including the price of the car and what used to be a paintjob. That means I can build like 13 viperslayer to the 1 that might be able to run me.

You are right, there is no camparison to a 240 and a viper. I would much rather spend 10k on building a car that will out run and out handle a viper rather than break the bank trying to afford a car because of the name of a car and the stares that you get while driving it. Just like the viper owner I beat, he even told us that he still has the dealer tags on it because he cant or doesnt want to pay taxes on the car.

Bad druver or not, I doubt a good driver a good driver could make up the car lenghts that i put on him. I do know what car you drive, I blue T/A right with tags like your screen name. Let me guess, when I spanked that boosted ws6 it was because of driver error because nobody can beat a T/A unless u are driving a T/A. I know your car is fast but I am calling bs unless you can show slips for a 10sec pass. And i was waiting for you to bring marshalls name up since every time i see him I see you. That is your personal choice. But a Viper is a completely different car. Who says he bought the car for the looks he gets? It is possible he perfers a quick n/a car from the factory instead of putting thousands into it just to get it running decent. Then on top of that decided to add even more. Actually, a good driver could make all the difference. You may know what car I drive but I doubt that Speedmoney guy does. That is the point I was making. No, I don't drive a turbo car. If you are the guy that asked to race after I just got back from running on the hwy, then yes I turned you down. Because on the way back we passed 2-3 cops. I don't feel like getting pulled over because of racing. If it was you, I told you I would race you the next weekend. And I was out the next weekend. depending on which import. honestly 240s are really cheap to make fast. lets see buy a 240 for 2k.(rolling chassis can be had for 700s) swap in a sr for say 5k since if u cant do it yourself. thats 7k for a car that can run 13s. high ass 13s with a good driver but a 13 nonetheless. a few bolt ons (another 2k) and u got a high 12. 9k to run 12s. trans am WS6 costs way more than 9k for low 13s.

I don't know what this guy's 240 ran. And I'm not saying the Viper should've won. But not have lost by 3-5 cars. That sounds like pure driver. If his car is truely fast, maybe 1-2 cars sounds a little more believable. Vipers aren't slow from the factory. Maybe I'm wrong, but maybe I'm right. We won't know until he races one that has a good driver. That is just my opinion.

the video was posted, the 240 won the race. was it due to driver error or is the 240 just faster on the highway? this whole argument proves nothing toward either reason. it's still very likely that the 240 vs a stock viper with a good driver could win. marshall's 240 ran with a Z06 making similar power to my car (which is also right where nyteryder's car was at the time of this run). when marshall and i went at it on the highway he was barely creeping on me in the Z06 with bolt-ons (an uphill run i might add).

The only time my car was raced against Marshall was once coming back from a Corvette cruise. After it had a little done to it, just on motor. It beat his car by about 1/2 a car length. Then one other night we joked around a did a 6th gear run, if you want to count that as a race. Meaning we put our cars in 6th gear and hit the gas. I'm not saying there aren't any fast imports ever. I just haven't seen them and when anything gets brought up its - I call so and so and you can race him. But I never see this person or the car.

When you car is done you should come out with us one night and we can do a bunch of runs with some other people as well. We should be back out around mid-late January.

As far as the STS kit. I believe it is a good kit...people just have to learn how to get the power to the ground. my case in point: my friend Dave patterson here in Smyrna ran a 11.35 @ 119 in his daily driver 4500# 2000 silverado truck. That was the sts kit...12psi..gt-67..93+methanol....no intercooler. Motor was a low compression 6.0 liter. I know because I helped build/install/tune the whole deal. Have video if needed. That kit has gone 9s on a gto and i THINK a vette.

I did not know there were a few turbo'd f-bodys around here...would love to meet up with you guys/gals and compare notes!!!

as far as the 240 vs viper...nice kill!!! Thats a sweet car to put under your belt. The viper didnt bring enuff motor and/or driver. I dunno why people have to argue import vs domestic etc....i think my car (T/A) was made in Canada..lol
