You will see when you look at the two, an compare the head an the intake, when you bolt it up it will have a vacumm leak,an leak anitfreeze into the motor

^^ Ok well i just took the old mani off. The Y8 doesnt fit.. there are metal block type things that are blocking the mani from bolting on correctly

Tech5

What could be this problem.. The original intake gasket was messed up soo i need to replace it, < could that be the Damn PROBLEM!!?????

The Y8 manifold fit fine with playing around on mine...and MANY others.

That sounds like a vaccum problem when it idles like that.

Tech5

I think he bypass the Fast idle valve an ran the hose to the intake

Black4DrEK
11-29-2008, 12:32 PM
Everything is correct im 99% sure.. but the throttle body gasket is F'd also. Could the throttle body gasket make all that shit happen??

i know this is probly a simple thing but im in the Garage pissed off cuz i keep looking over every hose and shit and i see nothing wrong!! LOL

White smoke and crazy idle, SOUNDS like something bigger is the problem! but i dont see how.

No check engine lights!

Black4DrEK

check your PCV valve ... thats prolly your whole problem .... make sure it doesnt have a leak and its not jus left unplugged ...

Tech5
12-02-2008, 06:26 PM
this will not cause white smoke like he is saying
check your PCV valve ... thats prolly your whole problem .... make sure it doesnt have a leak and its not jus left unplugged ...

Take a pic up close so I can see what you did

some how anitfreeze is getting into the motor, does not mean the motor is bad, means you got eith a bady gasket, or a coolant line hook to the intake causeing it to smoke... Which manifold you got back on the Stock D15b?

Black4DrEK
12-02-2008, 06:38 PM
^^ thanks Tech5 i got it done now. the problem is solved. the new throttle body gasket fixed the white smoke.. and the idle problem was the old gasket 'residue' was still on the head and port for mani.. so it was causing leak!! lol. simple problem fixed finally. O and i had to bleed the coolant valve thingy:D

thanks to all that tried to help. reps if i can
