Ok, this may sound like noob question, but i really dont give a shit, im just confused at this point. I purchased ARP rod bolts for my LS rods with the understanding that what had to be machined is where the nut screws on, but i have now heard that its actually where the bearings go that has to be machined?? Help

ive never heard of machining for them. the old bolt needs to be knocked or pressed out and the new ones should press or pull in.

What they are talking about is reconditioning the rod ends. It's basically just making sure that every thing is still true after you press or knock the old rod bolts out, because sometimes you will slightly warp the rod ends. Even if you can't see any warpage, it's still a good practice because you cannot see a thousandths difference with the naked eye, but it can still cause premature bearing failure.

Yes, you need to have the rods re-sized. The cap and the rod may have a slight offset causing a bearing failure.
