What is the best external HD?

I need an external Hard drive for my Mac. I saw this new shit on TV last night, but can't remember the name of it (do you know what I am talking about?). Doesn't really matter, I just want to hear opinions. Also, if you have experience with this, where the best place to buy it is as far as cost.

I've had Western Digital for 3 years now, 250 Gig, no complaints at all. Works great. Only problem is it's outdated and huge now compared to the latest 250 Gig External hard drives.

Ok everyone I have talked to says WD. So that sounds good :) Do you know of a good place with good prices to get one?

Micro Center was having a huge sale this weekend but i think it ended.

I would go to newegg.com and research the prices there. They usually have really awesome deals. Then you wait til friday, go to Circuit City (since they are closing down), best buy, micro center, and see what the prices are.

Then go with either in-store or newegg, depending on the price.

I have a WD, haven't had it too long, but I picked up a used one at a decent price and it has served me fine. Get a huge one lol, it'll cost a little more now but will pay off in the longrun. You'll need plenty of space for school :goodjob:

I got a WD from Best Buy for like $50 and it's been awesome. No connection lag or anything. :)

I got my WD at BestBuy for 99.99 its a 640 gb

these days they're really all about the same. if brand name makes you more comfortable then go for western digital, maxtor or seagate.
