As always our doors are open to anyone that is not going home for Thanksgiving or doesn't have family close by. We do this every year and will continue to do so. Last year we had about 30 people here at one point goofing off and having a good time.

This year we will be tossing horse shoes, shooting pool, goofing in the shop and eating as much as we can.

We are located in Monroe, Ga so if your close and want to drop in just shoot me a PM and I will get ya here.

Food will be served around 2pm til 5-6 pm or whenever we clear out.

Thanks and everyone else have a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday.

Thanks guys...

We'd rather a houseful of good company than have anyone eating alone on such a great day!

Looks like it is gonna be beautiful weather for outdoor fun and shooting pool so hopefully we will see you here along with a small crowd of good folk's. The response is pretty good so far so maybe we will end up with more than last year if we are lucky.

Thanks for the comments and well wishes from everyone. You'd be surprised at how much fun this actually turns out to be.

When we first started doing this several years back we only had maybe 5-6 people that we didn't know show up... Now we have at least 15 along with 15-20 that we do know. We always have an awesome time and with the weather looking up for us this year should be the best so far.

Short story time.

Two years ago we had a family with 2 kid's that were down on their luck. We knew ahead of time that they wanted to come but didn't feel comfortable since they had no idea who we were. I mean taking your kid's to a strangers house for Thanksgiving isn't the smartest thing to do now a days so I understood completely. I found out where he worked at (Hardware store) and started going by there about every other day (sometimes twice a day) and buying stupid stuff but always making it a point to see him while I was there. Within a few visits I mentioned Thanksgiving plans and us having no family and he fell right in to the trap. Not even 5 minutes later I had him agreed to bring his family to our house for the Holiday. Once they were here for a little while he came to me and told me that he had known about our "open house" but he didn't feel good coming into a strangers house and welcoming himself to their food but after talking to me he felt very comfortable. He wasn't sure if I was the same one as the invite from a week or so before through friends but I knew I was.

A few months later he accepted a job up north so they moved back to their hometown. We have never heard from them again but I know in my heart that they had as much fun as we did on that Giving day. Oh and their Christmas was awesome thanks to a "secret" elf that had the gifts special delivery to their home on Christmas Eve. That was probably the "best" Thanksgiving ever for us but we will continue and try to top that awesome day each year to come.

So even if you have some place to go feel free to stop by for desert in the afternoon if ya have time.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

P.S. Anyone here speak fluent Spanish
that can help us deliver Thanksgiving
food Wednesday afternoon?

When I was active duty it wasnt unusual for the senior enlisted and officers to bring peopel to their homes so I know what it is like to be alone during the holidays.

My hats off to you BUGMAN for really thinking of others.

Man I didn't even think of that. I am pro Military 100% but that didn't even cross my mind for some reason. I bet this is real common around bases, etc.

I have several friends that won't be here this Holiday Season because they are defending our country and we always keep them close in our minds and hearts.

Thanks again for pointing that out. :goodjob:

Good job on showing that this Holiday is not just about eating turkey and having an extra day off. Bravo, my good man, BRAVO!!!! :goodjob:

I need someone that speaks Spanish because one of the families that we are delivering Thanksgiving dinner to Wednesday afternoon is Spanish with 7 kid's. I need to find out which of the kid's match the Christmas list that we have from Partners in Education. Don't want to get the 16 yr. old a girl jacket if it is indeed a boy.

Would love to have ya Turkey day as well.

You have a PM Sir.
