Finally I have gotten my new love home.....as you can see she needs some TLC, but I have the time, and money for it. Let the fapping begin....... Also, these are the only shots I got before my camera went dead. More pics to come, as I have cleaned it up. It needs work, has been sitting for 13 years untouched. 87k orginial miles.

62 Gto 250, paid for it over 4 years time.

I haven't got it to start yet.....the motor will spin over...but the clutch and brakes are "froze" up. It needs a fair amount of work ( body wise ). But I should have it running next weekend.

However, since the car is black and so dirty it makes those details a bit harder to spot. That fuzzy pic of the interior is a Datsun if I'm not mistaken.

Yes! yeah, I mean I have 12k in it. The real deal goes for around 15 million, I think. Oh well. I am budgeting another 5k for it. It will look hella better by next sept.

yeah, it's not going to be hard to get running. I just have to replace vacuum lines, radiator hoses, brakes, ect ect. simple stuff. It was originally a 84 Datsun 280z. I have all the paper work the guy has put about 40k into the work done on it, and it's titled as a 1984 Alpha Ferrari. One owner!

That kit used a 240/260/280Z. The 280ZXs had a much more plush interior. Plus, the door panel gives it away, straight up original Z-car door panel. Also, 1984 was the first year of the Nissan 300ZX, which differed even more from the the 280ZX.

My Dad sold a 1978 280Z to a guy who was going to use the car for this kit. I have seen one in person at a Z show some years ago, and done right the kit looks really, really good.

Before I read a single reply I'm going to say that's 100% 240z, lol.

I'd say that's probably a 240z as well from the interior, but it's too fuzzy to tell for sure, there's minor differences in the interior from 240-280 but not huge ones. A cleaner shot of the interior would probably make it easier. Definitely an S30 Z-car, I'd venture to say it's probably a 74, and not an 84 and the guy just got his decades wrong.

If you want to REALLY do it justice...Remember 250 GTO's came with 3.0L V12's. Older BMW V12's are readily available for quite cheap, and with the money you save getting the block, you can spend on custom machine work to make the mounts. If you get a custom crank and rods you can even lower the displacement to get closer to the real Ferrari experience.

There's lots of guys on HybridZ.org who can help you more too, several of them have Kit 250's on their S30's.

But a Noble isn't trying to be anything but a Noble. This is a Datsun trying to be a Ferrari. Like a Pontiac trying to be a Lamborghini.

Its a okay kit but I dont think you will bring top dollar with it or anything.

Never did I say that it would bring top dollar. I have alot in it, and would be happy to get more out of it, that is if I really do decide to sale it....which I doubt. I see it, as being a nice replica when it is "restored", and you left out one other notable kit car, fox body Mustang trying to be a Shelby Cobra. I don't see anything wrong with a kit car, unless it's just not built in a tasteful manner. Basically, I could care less if others don't like it because it's a Datsun trying to be a Ferrari, that isn't why I got it. I've never in my life seen one on the road like this, so yeah. Also, I'm not being an ass, just sayin'.

EJ25RUN

I have brought this up before. Kit cars are not the problem. It is usually their owners lying about what they are. (Obviously not in this case).

The reason i say that is because it is possible to put together a kit car and have a quality product. Cobra kits have been doing that for 30 years.

In the case of this car, Ferrari made barley any GTOs and a real one is north of 10 million so.....kit car in this case is the only realistic option.
