Here is a free and creepy game that is good to play if you have lots of free time. It's pretty much like taking Silent Hill and mixing it with Earthbound. Some of the surreal environments will really have you going "WTF" and most of it is in there for absolutely no reason. A perfect alternative for drugs! Yume Nikki is a game where you play as a little girl and venture into her bizarre dreams. The story of the game is that the main character Madatsuki is a girl who has a mental illness. For some reason, she is not able to leave her apartment although she does have access to a little balcony. She decides to keep a dream diary to pass the time since she has been dreaming extremely creepy stuff for a while.

In the game, the main goal is too find the 25 abilities Madatsuki can gain in her dreams and, once you gain all 25, place them in the door room.

To progress in the game, go to your bed and sleep. When you go to sleep you wake up outside on your balcony. You then go into your room and into your closet. Inside there is the door room. Each door is a portal to a different part of her dream world. Continue to unlock all the items and venture through all the worlds as you attempt to unravel the mystery behind her Madatsuki's dreams.

Good eerie music, and atmosphere give this game a pretty creepy feel despite the dated gameplay and graphics. A good game for fans of the bizarre and surreal. Also, be forewarned, there is usually a fine line between "adventuring" and "aimless wandering" in games. Yume Nikki dashes that all straight to Hell. So, enjoy getting lost and frustrated on your way to the f*cked up ending.
