Here is a motor I recently built. Tuned it for 45min, cause it took us the first 45minutes to get the damn thing to idle right :P Motor had 20min of running time and 3 oil changed before i put it on the dyno.

Rocket Motorsports M22 camshafts and valverain
Skunk2 Cam Gears
SMSP Production 4-2-1 header
BLOX Intake Manifold
RPM Service 70mm throttle body

DFE STAGE 1 Street Head work
Omnipower Valves

Im impressed since it only say 15 pulls and made this much. I figured if it hit 180ish i would be in business for 190-195whp.

NO CAM GEAR TUNING
POWER never peaked cause his injectors at 8200RPMS were at 117% duty cycle
We had base timing set, and it wasnt making the power i wanted it to, so Scotty started adding a degree across the board, and it came alive and kept making power, about 2whp per degree. I think the head was milled without my knowledge and the timing is off. we stopped adding timing due to his injectors already maxxed out. We'll retune in 2-3weeks when he gets bigger injectors, FPR, and gauge. this was through a 2.25in crush bent exhaust as well :o

200whp or bust

We had already taken the Wideband out so we could do Closed loop tunning (gas prices are a bitch so we have to tune for fuel economy also). The car was tuned at 13.5 a/f but would go up above 14 since the injectors were maxing out.

i tune aggressive on afr IF it makes power AND doesn't detonate, but not that aggressively. the exhaust only had one o2 bung and i wanted to make sure it ran ok w/ closed loop re-enabled. that final pull was w/o the wideband installed.

man u know i have been wanting 2 build my motor...been askin u price for few things for past month or less. I don't want my GSR really agressively built...sumthing i can abuse everyday and still got good mpg and realiability. How much did dat tune or build up cost?? PM the price so i can start savin

I need tuning on the C5 w/ just a VAFC I and ST Corsa cam gears...need the bung welded on too.

What effect is running the straight pipe with cat and resonator going to have on it? I guess kill the topend results?

well after having a b16 swapped into a hatch, about how much would it cost to have 180-200 whp.

i just sold a header to a guy and we tuned his b16 and it made 175whp

SParks Racing Header-$600
CTR Cams-$300
AEBS Intake Manifold-$150

thats all he had, and we tuned it with uberdata and got 175whp out of it.

200whp, your honeslty looking at $4000-5000.

itll be ok, i suggest running open header and then bolting your exhaust back on, the differences are usually a few whp up top. but a resonator and cat will prob hold back 4-7whp

yeah i called you that night remember dork. :cool:

His motor was really strong, i have never seen numbers out of a B16 likethat before. i was expecting 160-165whp at the MOST. kinda breaks your heart huh lol. its ok, everyonce in awhile a engine comes along like that and it hurts cause wheni had my "built" and was making 187whp, some guy rolled in with a stock ITR block and all hea had was cams and a header and made 191whp.

You told me that he didn't make as much as mine, almost as much. You said that he hit 170 once. Unless yall made some more pulls after you called me. Oh well, I think that opening the head and good header we will definately see the true power of the cams. I don't think the head will flow enough for the cams to make the amount of power they're capable of. *starts looking at credit card balances to see how much I can paypal vteckidd for custom rmf b16 header*

hmmmm, i thought i told you he made 174.81? maybe i called you when he made 171 or something,hmmmmm. yeah it was weird. i was like WTF. it was a JDM b16 so it had a little higher hp than USDM, CTR cams, Sparks Header, AEBS manifold.

Its prob the highest whp bolt on b16 i have ever seen. thats more than ITR motors. maybe its the header *shrugs*

as i said your midrange was much better than his though.
Hell, i overlayed my old motor vs the one in this thread, and i had like 15whp and 12TQ on him from 4000-7000rpms. my motor had much more midrange, which is weird cause we have similar builds. hmmmmm

That is one thing about my motor, it doesn't feel like a b16 anymore with the midrange. I guess peak is pretty but the area to the left has as much to do with power as anything. I just want the area to the left and peak!!! Find out for sure how much Randy would make me a b16 specific header for please. I can't stand it. I don't want any all motor b16's making more power than me. hit me on aim so we will quit whoring up your gsr thread. lol
