Why Do People Steal?

Watching the news when I got home, and I was felt bad for a single mother of 3 daughters. She recently (1 week ago IIRC) moved into a house, and her home was robbed of nearly everything. They even took food from the refrigerator and cupboard!

Why do people steal from others? What drives people to steal? What makes people not think of the innocent (in most cases) people that they are hurting?

A lot of people think they are owed something from everyone else. They are ignorant to the "work for what you get" attitude. Lots of times, they are born and bred to be this way by their irresponsible parents. Most know they can't get a job making decent money and they know they aren't smart enough or responsible enough to get or hold a job of their own. They don't care who they get it from because they are out for themselves. And a lot of times, it's to get shit to sell/pawn to get their next fix. Later, QD.

I think QD is absolutely right. I think it appeals to some people to take things without paying for them, thinking they are owed something.

QD pretty much said it. All i know is mofos be robbing autozone blind like everyday. tools, lights, wiper blades, tape, sand paper, window visors, hoodshocks, air freshners, etc.. everyday i got to wrk i find stashed packages stuffed under or behind stuff during my whole shift. Today they opened foglight and stuffed a whole kit in their pockets. they were starting on a second box but i guess somebody blew their cover bc they left it open but not empty. but the cameras see the employees at all times though. :goodjob:

Yeah, I agree with QD also. It just makes me mad as hell though. Luckily the local PD and community saw the interview and opened a bank fund for gift cards and monetary donations.

I have heard first hand the excuses, or reasoning behind theft. "I never had a fair chance" or "They enough, so they should give me some" or "Cause thats how it is in these streets" or "They don't deserve it"

Damn, where can one start to even attempt to fix shit like that. I realize that you can't just "change" people, but damn..........

Same thing,My dads best friend was a pizza delivery man. He was deliverying a pizza in Dekalb [:eek: ]...and Someone put him @ Gun point and stole his $800 BMW. + It was a POS...2 weeks later,they found it on Pleasant hill.

yea this was infront of his moms house, getting there for thankings giving, saw a car sitting behind him. Sat in in car for a min and watched, they drove away, he went to go inside and guy was walkn to him wit a gun

I was in Atlanta at a Halloween party, and I gave a bum at the gas station 10 bucks at like 4 in the morning. I was plastered and felt charitable. The guy uses 5 to do what I believe was a crack deal, I saw it happen right in front of me just didn't see what was in the bag. He then went into the gas station and bought a 40. Told him I was glad to help him waste his life away even more, which didn't make him happy. Then I had 5 bums swarming around me asking for money.
