I have this drivetrain I pulled from an 86 Mustang of mine.
It does run, I heard it run before I bought the car. I removed it from the car and removed the oil pan to double check some things. There was barely any sludge on the bottom of the pan. Just a little bit by the 2 sumps on the Fox body pan, and I scraped that out. There are no loose rod ends indicating spun bearings, the oil is plenty black still and not milky from water being mixed in or anything. The engine is clean and ready to rock. Here are some details:
306 roller motor
E303 cam with Ford Racing roller lifters
Brand new water pump
Brand new oil pump
New front and rear seals with the motor regasketed
Mac long tubes (with an H-pipe, also more than likely a Mac)
New double roller timing chain
Some porting on the stock heads
Weiand Stealth intake
Holley 600cfm carb
Mallory Unilite Comp something-er-other distributor
MSD Blaster 2 coil
Chrome valve covers
New clutch and pressure plate, not even broken in yet
Pro 5.0 shifter
Brand new Ford Motorsport throwout bearing, no miles
New speedometer cable, no miles
Steeda double hook quadrant (used)
5.0 Resto firewall adjuster
I don't really know what to ask for this, but I'm not going to give it away. You can pick it up, install it in any old Ford car or truck you want and instantly have a running car. Or you can even buy the Fox chassis I have, and put it right back in. I'm going to start asking around $800 obo for it. If it's too high then make a reasonable offer. If I find out it's too low for a running drivetrain, then I'm going to adjust it to a fair price so I'm not getting screwed.
I can take any pics a potential buyer might want, and I am NOT parting the motor out.
Here are pics taken today. The headers narrow down to 2.5" after the flange that connects to the h-pipe and tightens them together.
