Okay, I have seen threads about the best looking car on IA and even the ugliest, but I dont recall anyone starting a thread about the sounds of our cars.

Here is mine. This is the best vid of my Cobra's sounds that I have @ work. I'll post up another exhaust clip when I get home.

Everyone has different opinions about sound. Just like people always tell me that they love how subarus sound. Their pants might get tight but for me it sounds ok. Not boner material. But if I were to pick a IA member's ride for this thread.

I would have to go with Boris (boki) as being ONE of the best sounding cars... Just something about the way an M series sounds screaming down the road. That and Hunters Camaro TT is just beastly sounding.

the new m3's sounds great! As do nissan vq35/vq37 engines! Mustangs also sounds great, sti's prob have the nicest sounding engines/exhausts notes for any 4 banger....

I get the same thing, except the general concensus seems to be that the Cobra is better liked than a GT. I've actually scared quite a few people w/my exhaust :lmao:

I would say most turbo cars are ruled out. In exception for STi's, clarks supra, hunters SS, Nick and Phil's Evo's. The whoosing and whiring of your typical 240 or stock Evo just doesn't sound like anything fantastic to me..

I.M.O if you've heard a new M3 in person then you'd know it sounds more refined and pleasing to the ears than almost anything on the board. The means if it's not a smooth high revving N/A car or one of a few insanely fast turbo cars then it doesn't even qualify for the best sounding, based on what i think..

It's hard to say because the board is filled with Honda's and 240's and all similar domestics and all the different individual cars sound the same as each other. Some civics are loud, some arn't as loud...they all sound similar. There isn't that much variety or any exotics....
It would be a given if someone had a V10 M5 with no cats or even a Carrera S or E39 M5 with full exhaust. One of these would sound the best by far, but nobody really has a different/expensive car like that, that posts.

the terminators do sound great...and i think i remember your car from a sonic meet in gwinett one time...and if its the car i think it is, it sounds really good...but IMO i think the new edge saleens sound the best.

It all depends on what you like, a Ferrari 360 running hard through the gears gives me the same chill bumps as a 10k RPM B-series at WOT.

Boris' e46 M3 sounds incredible.

Just about every time I drive my Integra someone tells me it doesn't even sound like a Honda...automobile that is.

LSX's with cam's, lightweight flywheels, and tuned exhausts are simply orgasmic.

Cleve's 996 GT2 with swirls of flames coming out of it gave me a chubby every time.

Synthesis is the combining of the constituent elements of separate material or abstract entities into a single or unified entity.

Constituent is to compose or make up a thing; component: the constituent parts of a motor.


Nissan hired a orchestra composer to create or discover the most pleasing sound possible to come from the VQ engines. Does that make it synthetic?

I think that's badass. New V8 European cars sound fantastic from Tourage's to 650i's to RS4's. However, if you take the cats out and add some mufflers I think they would hands down sound the best on this forum, we just don't have any people with new badass cars with full exhaust.
