Do you guys TIP when you go to Starbucks?
I'm not big of starbucks due to the fact that I think they are a rip off.... But once in a blue moon I will go.
I always see the tip jar and laugh.. I think it is stupid for them to have it there.... But they are not really doing shit over the top of service to deserve a tip...
Most of the time there customer service sucks also.

Subway and Blimpie's are the same way. They have a "tip jar" at the cash register. Right. I don't tip. Not those places. Later, QD.

" I don't tip because society says I have to. All right, if someone deserves a tip, if they really put forth an effort, I'll give them something a little something extra. But this tipping automatically, it's for the birds. As far as I'm concerned, they're just doing their job."

If I pay with cash, and I get some coin change back, then I'll put that in the Tip jar, cause I hate having coins in my pocket.

Shit. Send that stuff to me, then. There isn't a time when I walk through a parking lot that i don't pick up every single piece of change I come across. Later, QD.

No tipping unless they are actually working to serve your food (AKA a nice restaurant)
If people start tipping good at fast food places, fawk maybe I should go work there.

Since I work for tips and don't get jack shit for an hourly wage, I normally don't tip at places where they are already compensated for their labor. Of course there is always the exception if someone really does go above and beyond the call of duty, I don't mind giving a little extra. I know ppl appreciate when I bust my ass, so I try to return the favor.

I work at jersey mike's subs. we have a tip jar and i usually make 8 bucks an hour after i get my tips every day.
sure, it's not super hard to make a sandwich but i am polite, make their sandwiches and ring them up doing more than a waiter does and a lot faster.
Note: i dont tip at starbucks.

i only tip at sit down restaurants where there actually is a server who gives a damn. im a server at santa fe and what some people dont understand is that it does cost money to run a table. and if you work somewhere where the sever has to give tip out to the host and bartender, when you stiff one of us it actually costs us money. cuz we have to pay it. i dont tip at subway and that kinda stuff but i ALWAYS leave a tip at other restaurants. ive only stiffed one waiter before because she didnt do SHIT and then circled tip not included on the bill when she handed it to me.

Maybe it's a nice way of those chains upper management getting their employees to be content with average wages, by telling them you'll make "just enough to live in poverty" PLUS TIPS!!!
lulz
Waiting tables sucks too. Americans must be bad at math. ;)
You'd be amazed how many people think that $1.50-$3 is 15% of $50

I personally love starbucks. Enjoying a smoke in their non-smokin' section plus a nice hazelnut hot chocolate and throw a nice mature conversation with a few of your buddies and just chilling, mmm can't get better than that.
But as for the tip jar. Haha, I've never seen that shit.

like some one else said already i only tip real waiters as well. also most of those people at star bucks get fairly descent treatment. they get a descent pay, remember they are mixing coffee i know they bust ass sometimes but still, they get a free pound of coffee beans a month their choice and a few other perks like getting all the coffee they want while they are at work. thats the way it was last year when one of my friends was working there part time anyways

You took the words out of my mouth. Srsly...
I don't think its necessary but if I was employed there I would love the tip jar as an opportunity to get more money to go above and beyond.
I was in a hurry once and I told this Jersey Mikes girl i'd compensate if she could finish my sub in 30 seconds. She had it in a bag and in my hand at 28 seconds (it was hilarious watching her) so I dropped two dollars in..

i work at an on the border, my hourly pay its $2.13 and i get payed every two weeks. sometimes that check comes with "void" written all over it. not always, maybe sometimes 5-to 10 dollars max. why? it has all gone into taxes. so therefore making tip-money my only form of income. some people might say "its ur job and u shouldnt get compensated for it blah blah blah" having a good waiter means having a great experience, having a bad waiter = dealing with lots of stress and anger.
i will never tip , no matter how good of a job they do at places where they get payed a normal wage, never. it makes no sense. i never tip at subway, starbucks, any place i dont sit down to eator when i get take outs.
but when i do go to sit down restaurants, i tip way over the amount appropriate. well of course depending on the quality of service.
just my .2 cents.

I hate starbucks with a passion, it tastes like the same lukewarm diarrhea water I can make with the coffee pot at home. Now, cafe intermezzo is a whole different story. Best place in the world to bring a date. Me and my girl are addicted to that place.

How come every time I've gone to starbucks with you, you always just sit there and keep asking me what I'm wearing underneath all my clothes?

I try and tip a solid 25% at a sit down restaurant because I know a lot of people out there forget it's about percentages and tip a flat rate of 2 bucks and those people work their asses off. I toss change in tip jars at other places because I also don't like it weighing me down. I hold on to quarters though.

i tip at fast food restaurants if they give me free shit, otherwise no. But of course i give a tip and a nice sit-down type restaurant.
