Yes, Camaro looks great. Koni is really filling the gap of production racing. I'm a fan of the Spec B Legacy that runs the series.

it wont in stock form of course, but the Ecoboost is supposed to be the gas sipper of the 2, and is gonna be ford/lincoln/mercury's mid/top level motor. it only makes 260-280hp.. i believe. And the new GT is supposed to be over 300, but it is cutting it close..either way it will sale!

Hell I'd be interested in the ecobost motor over the V8. TBE, Intake, etc. Pull up at the light idiot next to you expects to hear a v8 and instead the beautiful sound of boost.

There is a harsh reality coming from Ford.

Instead of having American Ford, Aussie Ford, and British/German Ford designing and selling different cars to their markets, an international car line is coming. The first of these is the Fiesta. There are also ridiculous plans to make the Falcon fwd and based on a Taurus. Soo, if the Mustang is to stay in the lineup, Ford will probably have to make it more internationally appealing.

Diesel Mustang anyone? *idea*

Btw.... Australia has a good balance between their 5.4 quad cam V8 and their DOHC I6 Turbo models and i feel Americans will approve of these as well.

Top Gear Australia did a decent comparo. (Yes it is Holden Vs Ford but it still OHV V8 vs I6 Turbo)

i liek that idea sicne id love for the ford falcon to come here,i just dont understand why people think it so much betetr to be advanced, the Corvette has bascily been the same since 1962,and to this day it is still a pushrod V8 with normal manual tranny...i mean i think the new camaro is to advanced

im just more of a fan of if it isnt broke dont fix it,which chevy had been doing with the camaro and vette all this time.

and about gas milage if i can get 30mpg hwy in my camaro, then i see no reason y ford or chevy cant get better in thier new engines

The Corvette, if it was introduced as a lower-priced, less sexy looking vehicle (perhaps with a back seat even?) that was called something else, would not sell.

Want proof? See GTO.

yea,i was going on more of engines....a camaro really is corvette performace for less money and lower insuance, but ofcourse there are things cut out, like deff a vette handles betetr thinks to its very well designed frame and weight..but it really doesnt take much for a camaro to beat a corvette in each of thier gens

Having a solid rear isn't what I meant. Makes a pretty big difference to be honest.

Also, most Camaros were sold without Corvette powertrains.

Like Redgt put, that was a one off designed by Fabrizio Giugiaro and would cost Ford way to much money to mass produce. It would cost us around $80,000-$100,000 per car.

Look through this link. Ford has released a teaser of pretty much every angle inside and out.

Thoughts, opinions, impressions?

Personally I like it. I think that revised front and rear fascias are a huge improvement over the last model. The interior improvements so far look great. There were a few things that I hated in the old ones and so far it looks like the redesign has fixed some things that I hated.

Still waiting to see the Ecoboost engine in it. Guessing that is what will be the big surprise in January that they were talking about.

Also the power packs. I can't wait to see the details on those released.

Can't believe they will be released in March.

I guess you'd call putting a Ford GT into a light car body a Mustang too right? Oh wait, you do. Figures.

Camaro and Corvette aren't even in the same universe here. By that logic, my boss's Trailblazer SS with it's Corvette engine and transmission is a Camaro. Funny, I was pretty sure Corvettes have had IRS for a while now, along with a good number of other things that make your Camaro/Corvette comparison off base.

Plus I will reiterate. Most Camaros sold did not have Corvette powertrains anyways.

Why would they EVER do what you were suggesting? that would completely take away from the name "Corvette"

Its sort of like the idea about how everyone would like mustangs a whole lot more if there wasn't a V6 version...

Yes, the new Camaro does have IRS, and is much more like an actual "Budgevette" like people have always tried to push the Camaro. It isn't a cheap alternative to a vette because for quite a long time it was a heavy unbalanced Solid-rear muscle car that needed quite a bit of work to get to Corvette performance levels. The budget part went out the window if you wanted it to perform like a Corvette. The new Camaro might finally be something different, and it might also still be too late to save GM from the pit they dug themselves, which breaks my heart. And I'll be honest, I don't think the Z06 is a supercar on a budget. It's hardly cheap and they aren't really supercar fast. Put it up against some of the lower-end supercars, maybe an F430 or even a Gallardo, and you don't see similarities. You put it up against a Porsche 911 Turbo and it's still not quite there yet in some departments. The point of my argument was that they did EXACTLY what I said in the new Pontiac GTO. It worked in Australia because they DIDN'T have this "Vette Culture" surrounding everything. Australia likes the kind of cars most Americans should like. There's no reason for the GTO's sales to be LESS than the Vauxhall VXR's. It's ridiculous!

not necessarily man. they havent always been about the v8. if that were true why would they have made a 170ci six in the 1964 1/2s? yes most mustangs you see that are "modded" are v8s but that doesn't mean that ford is/has always been about it. they had a badass 4cyl too(svo). not to mention that the new sixers put out just about as much power and can outrun a sn-95 gt. i think the new v6s have started to change peoples minds when it comes to v6 performance mustangs. with the price difference between the gt and base model you can make a v6 as fast/faster.
