Aight well i didn't think it would come down to it. But i need to sell it.

year - 1966
make - datsun
model - 1600 - roadster
Price - $3000 ($3500 with all the extra parts I have)

The good -
RUNS AND DRIVES - cruises quite well about 60mph.
NEW FRONT Calipers, brake lines, and pads
New rear passenger wheel bearing
very little rust. Just a bit in the trunk... surface rust right now.
paint is okay
new dunlop tires
aftermarket rims
carpet is new
Comes with technical manual and all records since day 1... not kidding... along with all the stuff i've done to her.

Bad - (understand that it's 42 years old :-) )
a couple of dents here and there
door panels are there but not attached properly for some reason
seats are not perfect

They really aren't that hard to find, and when you do they come straight from japan and are in nissan boxes (they still make original parts). I can give a list of sites such as rallye.com and one or two more. There are also shops that specialize in just Datsuns around atlanta.

Once you get into the old school scene (just like other specific cars) you will find a whole group of people who have parts and what not.

You can also check out zero motorsports. They have helped a lot especially with the idea I had to put an SR20 in it.

It has two... one hard top (a boxey white one) and the frame for the soft top, that you can repair.

I really think you should keep it, i would love to have a roadster but i have a baby, a wife, and a awesome 1970 240Z in the garage that i am trying really hard to put back together. All i am saying is don't give up ! I have had two Z cars & a Datsun Maxima that I have had to sell over the years & regret it, i am actually selling my daily driver ( 1999 Jeep Cherokee ) so I can keep the Z. If you have to sell it just make sure the person is a diehard fan !!

P.S. When Jesus comes back he WILL be in a Datsun !!

Are the carbs HS4 or HS6 (1.5 or 1.75 inch)?
How is the transmission? synchros?

Ali, I can answer the carb question for you. All the 1.6's came with the smaller (1.5) SU's although they aren't really HS4 or 6's. Roadsters all had Hitachi/ISO licensed copies of SU's. They don't share parts, but you can use the aftermarket filters available for the Brit carbs though. From the photos it looks like a pretty original 66. glws

such nice 1600. I was looking for one but now just looking for a daily. Are you the girl I met at a Sonic meet months ago? I was in a black 280Z. Anyway, good luck and I really wish I don't need a daily. It would be so nice parking next to the Z.
