Awesome dude! We're really fond of the ka swap in a 510. i think they don't have the wow factor of an sr20, but I think boosted, a ka is a way better choice. Wise decision. Holla at us if you need any parts, help, or whatever.

What about if I did either a KA or an SR20DE in my 510? Would either handle direct port nitrous, say an 80 shot? (See username :ninja: )

I already have one Turbo/nitrous car. I'm not sure I need another turbo car....

don't see why it wouldn't handle it... might want to put good pistons, studs and a good head gasket in though

No Ive only ever seen two other sets online.

why did you go ka-t?

Because its cheaper, more displacement, and more parts are readily available. Also when swapping an Sr20 into a 510 you have to get an aftermarket turbo manifold because of clearance issues with the steering box so it is not as straight forward as swapping one into a 240sx. And primarily i got this whole Ka with the turbo setup together.

what about rod knock with those motors? i have seen so many people go ka-t on a 240 nto get rod knock because of the stork of the motor.. i'm not trying to be a dick head...

No offense taken, thats common for stock bottom end KaT's. The ring glans start to fry at any thing over 300hp and rods snap at around 400hp.but there is plenty of aftermarket support for them. Checkout Ka-t.org (http://www.ka-t.org) there are plenty of people running 500-1000hp Ka's. Besides i only want around 330hp on the street and maybe mid 400s on a good tune, you have to kep in mind the damn thing weigh 2000Lbs and the widdest rear tire you can stuff back there is 225.

I'd run a 100 shot on a stock KA without concern as long as the fuel is there. That would make for a fun ride.

A 510 with more than 250 hp is nearly impossible to drive without some serious brake upgrades, a serious rework of the rear suspension, and lots of chassis stiffening. Even then, the cars have trouble putting that kind of power to the ground.

Solid Axles Rule

it might actually be running today... at the sacrifice that I may have fucked up my 240z today but I think it's fine. For some reason today it decided to literally drench the ground with oil so I got it towed and i'm going to mess with it when the rain stops
