I have a warning for you. Something I'm learning the hard way right now.
I bought some bad ass Habeneros, from Harrys, and was making salsa earlier today. But unfortunately after cutting up the peppers with my bear hands, and making the salsa, I mistakenly adjusted my parts without thinking about it. You know where this is going...
Now because I didn't take the proper precautions, my genitalia is burning like a mother fucker. This is an epic failure, and I will have to explain it to my family. Being stupid doesn't pay kids. Remember that.
Just thought I'd share.

WTF for? Because it was hot? I guess if you are 7 and your body isn't ready for something like that I guess you could go to the hospital.

eh I don't hot peppers can cause respiratory failure in some people. This batch of salsa I made was way stronger than I had anticipated, and had me sweating and shit.

the juice and seeds can cause capsaicin burns internally, i also swole up pretty back. this wasnt a pepper found in a store it was home grown, and hand picked with gloves

I usually go to my backyard and pick peppers whenever im feeling like shitting boiling hot turds.
I eat them with hot sauce. Makes the combination that much worse.

I've never heard of capsicum burns before.
capsicum is the genus term for plants of the night shade family. Capsaicin is the active compound in chili peppers that produces the "hot" taste/sensation. In large doses (pure capsaicin mind you) can damage internal organs and even sometimes result in death. I was dealing with a red Savina Habanero to be exact. they are in the upper 350,000-550,000+ scoville range. 1/4 the strength of US law enforcement issued pepper spray

Yea I realize it's the ingredient that makes them spicy, but damn I didn't realize it could actually burn you.
I was under the impression that the burning sensation was a strictly mammalian response to the capsicum.

fixed
and no normal Pepper will kill u....but pure Capsaicin can be in the 16 million + scoville range. thats 8 times stronger than pepper spray. even more so than the hottest pepper in the world. Even at those 1-2 million scoville ranges you are in for some severe pain, and possible damage. Even too large a dose of pepper spray can kill a person :D

It was after I had made the food. I'm not sure if I adjusted, or if I just went to the rest room, and washed up after as is normal, but I forgot I had fresh habenero on my hands, and should have washed before I made it rain like R.Kelly.
