Ok so I see everyone else posting math problem up so I figured I would throw this one out there. I have been trying to figure it out for a few days not but it get VERY ugly when you start to work it out. There must be something I am not doing that will make it a little nicer. Let me know.

SOLVE THE DIFFERENTIAL EQUATION:

Ok so I got all the Y's on one side and x's on the other:
http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b230/dtmcnamara/1.jpg

So then I integrated both sides in order to get rid of "dy" and "dx":

Then i multiplies e to each side in order to get rid of the ln:

Then i moved things around to get y by itself....this i where I think i messed up

And my final answer is UGLY as hell....where did i mess up?

i got the same, but instead of that +1 in the denominator, i got a +x

but i havnt been in diffy q for a while

hummm....there has to be something i am missing. i was told the answer was to look "NICE" and "PRETTY"....unless this can be simplified....?

mechanical engineering

CALC 1, 2, 3
Differential Equations
then something else...

its fun shit...lol

fun fun fun....I hated accounting. I took 1 and 2 and barley passed 2.

Good luck with that. What do you want to do? Be an accountant?

We had differential equations in Calc 1, so thats weird you have it in Calc 2. Though this was more than 3 years ago, so I don't remember shit! haha.

haha, i guess it's the way you deal with stress. i like numbers. working with numbers all day is lovely. only thing better than that would to be a math teacher. plus, i don't have to really worry about losing hair.

ya...but then again when you have a shit load of employees to watch over to make sure they are making YOU money and your clients....i guess that would make anyone a little stressed.

i still dont see how he does it

It's been a few years since I've taken calc 2 or diffy q (don't really use it too much in industrial engineering), but I'm guessing it's something wrong in your integration step. I'm not too fresh on anything but the most basic integration, but all of your algebra looks to be correct.

Edit: well except you should have a +x in the denominator instead of +1 (like Spek already pointed out)
