my wife drives an 01 Limited
3.5l v6
I love it! I think that generation is one of the best looking SUV's. The newer ones are ugly though.

i had a 2005 until last sunday, when some drunk fuck decided to cross the street and jump right in front when my bro was driving and he hit a tree. right in front of the billards place, across the street from wild bills. wrecked the whole left side, btw it deleyed his departure for boot camp, good thing everything is being paid for and he left on tuesday.

cliff, they are great trucks....
I had my 95, but pretty much all of my mom and dad's friends have a 98+ bodystyle....
all of them have over 100+k miles on them and still run like a champ.....
I was actually wanting to get a 97-98 Sport 4Runner (they have hood scoops!)
but good motor, I've never heard of tranny or motor problems whatsoever...my only complaint is that the rear seats are a little tight for a SUV, but whatever.
my sister has a 05 and she loves it, but it's a Toyota product...so as long as you change the fluids, it will probably run forever.
just watch the video from Top Gear when they tried to destroy that Toyota Hilux pickup.....they couldnt.

aww man, if I only had some pics....I had muds, the safari roof rack, and some Alcoa look alikes.....
if you get the 97+ bodystyle, lifts are pretty cheap for them now...I dont care too much for the bling myself.

whatever i buy next whether car or truck it's gonna stay stock...i don't need somthing to draw attention and i destroyed my silverado taking it off road so i am avoiding that with the next vehicle....it's gonna get a system and that's it...and i may throw some rims on it if i just happen to run across some but other than that it will be stock

just get some nice 16's, and put some good street tires....or go with some nice 15's and again, get some nice tires...nothing too aggressive, but something that is usuable....like, if it floods, or if there is debris that they can handle it.

ACTUALLY....pretty soon here, the Toyota dealership in Slidell should be having a scratch and dent sale from the hurricane....I'm definately gonna be checking some out.....from some that I saw....they were just pushed into each other or that they had cars under them....
but at a good enough deal, I can deal with some minor damage.

heck yea...maybe we will have another hail storm come through between now and when i am ready to buy lol...and well my buddy now works for an auction company that auctions off leased vehicles and stuff so i can prolly get one through there pretty cheap...who knows but 4 runners are definately awesome vehicles
Cliff, I have a Silver 2001 Toyota 4 Runner SR5 for sale if you are interested. The price I am asking for it pretty much beats every single price in Auto Trader.

Sounds like me. I had 4 Jeep Wranglers that I modded to all hell and then abused them 4 wheeling. The supra and a wrangler weren't very practial cars, so after my last wrangler was destroyed by a drunk driver I picked up a 97 4x4 4Runner w/ leather/sunroof for $10,000 w/ 110k miles. I've had it for like 2 years and besides brakes and tires I haven't put a dime into it.

yea...i had the civic that i raced at commerce and had to replace clutches and i thought i would change other crap on it which ended up costing me money then i destroyed my silverado's bushings and control arms off road so now i just want somthing i can sit back and enjoy life without the hastles
