"a SHO" doesnt sound right to me. that's why i said "an"

"A" goes before all words that begin with consonants.
with one exception: Use an before unsounded h

"An" goes before all words that begin with vowels:
with two exceptions: When u makes the same sound as the y in you, or o makes the same sound as w in won, then a is used.

What kind of car is that? "A" SHO Taurus, fine sir. *petite bow*

What "AN" Enormously underrated SHO Taurus you have there.

Not trying to sound like a dick...just helping. I really like SHO's though

I do have to interject, though. You can't correct someone's grammar if your's isn't on point...in your first post, you said ,"A SHO, no "AN" SHO" which of course is completely incorrect being that you meant to say "NOT "an" SHO"

Furthermore, the car has never been, is not, and will never be a SHO Taurus, but a Taurus S.H.O....which is why he feels it necessary to put the "an" there because of the vowel sound of the letter "S".

LOL...I like being a dick....do GET IT SKRAIGHT POTTNAH! *and I spelled that phonetically*

It's definetly rated, "A.G." Bruh! It's all good in the hood! Baby makin music, Man, baby makin music.

Really, only people who don't own one call them SHOs (Shows). They may in the naming of the car call it a SHO like,
"I'm bout to jump in the SHO and drag this sorry ass Integra"
or
"This fool tried the SHO, and I left him in oil enriched tailpipe smoke"

S.H.O. = Slow Heading Out

:)

Congrats! I thought I was the only one rockin a Ford Taurus on this site. Incase you didn't already know, check out the SHOforum (www.shoforum.com) for TONS of information on your newly aquired grocery getter.

Also, here in blacklanta we SHOwners are lucky enough to have a nationally recognized mechanic amongst SHO enthusiasts. You can find him HERE. (http://www.fordspecialists.com/)

Remember: Third gear is your friend. They say it was crafted by Jesus himself. :boobies: Mods are expensive and with little gain in HP. However, these yamahammers LOVE boost... but it comes at a hefty price.

Last but not least, GOOD LUCK. These cars are maintanence bitches but a lot of fun, nonetheless. I still get a hard on everytime I hear the secondaries open up at 4k rpms. :goodjob:

Tell you a secret, I get mine to open at 3.5K with my BBBs!

Nah, you're not the only one, Bruh! I've had at least ONE SHO for 10yrs now.

BTW, Doug Lewis does GREAT work and he's a cool ass Dude, but FPS is horribly overpriced. That comes with the territory of owning an SHO though...you actually have to become a specialist yourself.

Yeah...I recognize this one...So you've gotten your's BLOWN eh? Doug told me to bring him a BNIB Vortech or Paxton, 10 grand, and I'd leave doing 350 at the front wheels. That's a helluva lot of money for 100 horses LOL. I'll probably twin turbo mine a'la the Noble M500 and get it up around 400fwhp and call it a DEEZY! I'm working on mating an Eaton M90 from my SC to my 96 V8 SHO...that'll only be a $5000 modification. :screwy:

That's a completely loaded question. With the 3.2s, you can stroke them to 4.2 and give them all forged internals, open up the heads, change the cams, bump up the compression to close to 11:1, add a few bolt ons, and get 340hp plus out of them naturally aspirated. I've read articles where the Noble M500s (which run the same engine) in the twin-turbo config get as much as 700-800hp. ABSURD!!!

What's WORSE is that the dayum things don't have a real redline. I've dropped mine to 3rd on the expressway and carried it up to 115mph in 3rd gear!
Still think your 626 wants to line up with one of these? :???:

Intake and exhaust. Pretty much. That's about the highlights. No nitrous. No boost. It's quick for what it is but isn't fast as it could be. But it's not slow..... If thats all you have, provided that his car is running right in stock form, the SHO should come out on top ESPECIALLY if its a highway run. However, anythings possible. I'd love to see the race.

Seems to me you are somewhat confused. The 3.0 V6 DOHC motor you have in your sable is not the same as the 3.0L V6 DOHC that is in the SHO unless you performed a swap... in which case I ask for pics.

The sable packs a Duratec. The SHO packs a Yamaha motor. my bad bro. I mistakenly was comparing my engine to the original SHO V6 engine, but didn't realize the fact it was made made Yamaha and not by Ford. A big difference there. Even though the Duratech made 200 HP vs 220 HP Yamaha engine with the same torque for both cars. But, I still have respect for both engines, cause both at very well crafted engines. :goodjob:

I still remember when I did my first tune-up on my Duratec after I had just bought the car. When it came to chaning to spark plugs, I was heart broken to what I saw it had in the engine some CHEPO BOSCH COPPER SPARK PLUGS. I thought to myself, what a cheap basta*rd the previous really was. I wanted nothing but the best for my tune up, so I installed the Autolite XP Xtreme plugs in my baby (gave me boost in trottle response), K&N intake, plus other quality parts, and poured in some Mobil 1 full synthic motor and tranny oil. I brought it back to life better than ever. It really bothers me to see some people treat their cars like crap, but unfortunately those people will still exist no matter what. Anyways, I hope you folks have years of enjoyment out of your high performance engines. :goodjob::D

jc91sc
11-15-2008, 01:50 PM
TRUE THAT...that's like the 94 ATX SHO I had. When I first got it, it had Splitfire plugs and Autolite wires. Whomever had the car prior to me was TRYING to do right by it, but sadly, unless you're talking a custom wire company like Magnecore, no wires are better than the good Ol' Motorcraft. Same for the plugs. When you have a specialty car (funny to refer to a Taurus as a "specialty" anything), you have to do the proper research to find out what's best for it.

To those that care, there's an SHO V8 in Pull a part on the south side. There's also a 2g SHO atx in there as well.

You mean on Henrico off Bouldercrest? I was just there TODAY, and didn't see a GEN III SHO! Do you remember the row/line/color/anything?

You're just hating that there's a 626 out there that isn't spraying nor turbo that could possibly hand you your ass back to you on a silver tray. I'd probably be upset too

LOL...only way you could hand me MY ass back on a silver platter is if you ARE either spraying, boosted, or rotary converted. Otherwise, that 600-700lbs you're savin is for naught! Again...preciate the heads up!

James E.

man those motorcraft wires blow ass, i had a set in my svt, and they started arcing in like 6 months..Duralast for me..with the warranty, and i just repalce them whenever i feel like it...lol

Maybe the engine that's in my car has more potential than you believe. And why would I put a rotory engine in a FWD car?

Again...preciate the heads up! You could just pull out your Tunderbird SC if he insists he can beat you ;) . The Tunderbird SC is my second favorite coupe after the Lincoln Mark 8 (hell ya)!!!:D

That would just defeat the whole arguement that his SHO can beat my 626. If that's the case, I have another vehicle that could definately take that TSC. I wasn't playing that game.

Was just talkin SHO...not any other Fords...Motorcraft stuff usually reaks, but it's almost the best thing for the SHOs.

Blackshine...I just brought rotary up as an example...I'm going to rotory my 929! Believe dat!

Oh, and ONEBAD...the SC is spooling about 18lbs...haven't had it dynoed yet, still waiting to put a reground cam in it and am depating if Imma take is .30 over, but I think it could take the SHO. I'm just sayin.
*why do we continue Ford on Ford crimes?* :(

Which bodystyle 929 do you have? And are you keeping it auto or you throwing in the 5 speed as well? You should try to convince JITB to make his rotary as well.

I've got the HD 929, and am looking to go with the 20B from the JC Cosmo and mate it with the 5-speed. I may only be able to afford the 13B, but either way, I'll be doing better than the 3.0 that's in it!

Oh, and JITB can do as he wiil, but I won't convince him to go rotary. LOL...I wouldn't have the distinction of being the only rotary 9ine around if I did.

there is a cosmo front clip for 4500$.. I woudlnt mind going rotary, but putting a turbo 13b in the 9, is gonna make it a tug boat, unless you got a nice fat potato on the side. The 20B would be the choice, its just soo expensive.

what year is yours< and color? and how is your suspension?

jc91sc
11-16-2008, 03:38 PM
Mine is a 93, Black/Tan & Brown, and my suspension is still pretty stout. It's got 209K on the clock, and it's still pretty dayum strong, but it's beginning to leak from every possible orafice of the engine. I had a 94 w/80K original miles, but my wife wrecked it...was going to keep the drivetrain for a swap, but sold if wrecked for as much as I paid for the 93, so I couldn't be mad at it.

Little? Its a 4 door family sedan man.

They run 15s-ish stock. There has been a few factory beasts that hit the 14s. Back when these cars came out the power output and speed specs were admirable, but by todays standards they are by no means "fast." Though, for an old Ford taurus they will still put the whoop on a lot of todays rice burners.
