yea man this thing was built in the late 80s before wide body was a big thing. it was way out there for the time. and at the time it was the fastest streetable mustang, topping out at 198 or something around that. here is a pic with the UBER rare bubble back hatch. i want for my mustang SO bad but so hard to find :(

The bubble-back negatively affects the rear spoilers influence at speed. I bet he runs that when tooling around town - but never at anything over 130mph. :)

ACTUALLY! the bubble back HELPS the car with downforce. dont ask me how, but thats why they put that one on there. it was used in one of the topspeed runs. the only reason they switched to the airplane wing was because they thought it worked better.

A rare shot of the Capri Deck lid that was added to increase
down-force during the Road & Track High Speed Shootout.
Not as attractive as the later developed winged deck lid, but
this proved to be quite an advantage on the track.
idk how but yea

Wow................. They just went to far with this!

Are they sure that it increased DF, or that it just decreased the drag co-efficient (more mph). I can see it doing the latter, but I can't see that lid as a DF generator ---- kool info though.:goodjob:

There is a black one very similar to that right here on Hwy 53 close to Hwy 78. Definitely different but they may have gone a little too far. I can see where the younger gen. would like it but not for me.
