Ok i have a 4 door toyota tocoma. 2007 model. The thing is i dont think i have room to fit a decent sub. I know someone who put 2 10s under the seats of his truck but i dont know how. Whats the best kind of system that i could fit? I heard of sub that are thin but thats all i know. What amp and sub do you recommend. I'm willing to spend $500 - $550 max for everything. thanks.

wow, $500 4 the box build, amp, subs, and wiring might not get you too far unless you plan on building and installing everything yourself. Do you have the factory source unit in the car(truck, sorry)?

It can be done, you just have to know how to get the most for your money! Im not talking about pyramid or roadmaster either.

IIRC, the tacomas are VERY hard to fit subs under. Clarion makes a really low profile sub that should fit under there with a custom made box.
I've got these for sale if you are interested : http://www.importatlanta.com/forums/showthread.php?t=201968 That should leave you enough money to get a custom box built if the thin box that I have wont fit... (PS, sorry admins if I am breaking any rules)

For around 200 bucks you can get some shallow mount P3 12's and you can get an Alpine m1000 mono amp for around 250. Be sure to get a 4ga. amp kit with a 100 amp inline fuse. Shop around for the best price. I found these on Ebay. Also all you need from there is a box. I called my supplier though and they don't carry boxes for your truck nor do they think they make one. But that is just what they said. You can find something that will fit I am sure. If you have a factory radio, just buy a line level output converter for a couple bucks and your ready to install.

we've put 2 10's or 4 8's behind the back seat, but i don't think you can get everything in your price range. i'll post some pics on tuesday when i'm back at work

Last one I did, we put a single 8 under the seat, and the amp on the back wall. The customer did not want to give up any more space than that.

kenwood has a slim 12" sub that can fit behind the seat. so does rockford. umm. i think power acoustic does too. the kenwood and the rockford both sound good. there is a box mad to go under the seat. i don't know who makes it. we can build one for you. your amp will depend on your sub choice. pm me if you want more detailed info.

As for slim chassis subs, you have a number of choices. Many of the big name companies make them. JL audio, MTX, Pioneer, Boston Acoustics, Rockford Fostage, and Kicker just to name a few. We at my brothers shop have installed the JL Audio and Pioneer shallow mount subs in a few trucks and the sound great. We built a box to mount the subs behind the seats and mounted the amps in the middle. Those subs are very shallow so you can make a very shallow box, they also don't need a lot of box volume so the box doesn't have to be enormous.
