The 1200's your referring to are the MK1. These are the original 1200.

What is the timecode records for?
instead of carrying crates full of records, you use these timecodes records as a controller for any digital or even video dj'ing. i have hundreds of mp3, wav, and mpeg video files i use for dj'ing. heres an example:
