I am thinking about going into nursing. I wanted to teach but second guessing. Anyway i have a soft spot for hurt ppl and was wondering if the job was emotionally draining. I can deal better with sick children, than adults or old people. how do you feel after a days work or after losing a patient? or are you that involved with them?

Well some times. It really depends. She worked on the liver transplant team at emory childrens, now she does something similar but with kidneys I believe.

i think all nurses get emotionally attached and drained, that comes with the job. but i think the idea of it is that the satisfaction & reward you get from helping people and saving lives outweighs the negative.

My mom was telling me the amount of bitch work that the new guys that just graduated medical school have to do. Its really funny.

Don't let it stop you though. If its something your passionate about go for it! I wish the best of luck, and its an industry that will always be there.
