View Full Version : My 1970 Plymouth Barracuda

Had this since I was 15. My dad got a heads up and it was dirt cheap since it wasn't running and an auto 225 car. With the help of my dad we've managed to get everything done ourselves but the paint itself. Did all the prep work and such though. It needs the 440 I have for it rebuilt, but otherwise, ready to roll.

Car looks good man, can't wait until you get that 440 in it and start bringing it out so we can all enjoy looking at it in person.

Naw, I love old cars and what you and your father have done with this one. I myself have had my fair share of rebuilding cars with my dad. We have never completly restored a car because building nice street/stripd cars have always been our thing. We've worked on mostly Camaro's and Chevelle's. Sadly I had to sell my own last project. '71 Nova  But I've already found something better. Just a matter of time before I get my hands on it. Can you say, GTO.... Keep up the good work Rev.

I almost thought about buying your car if it's the one off CL. I know there was a plum fastback on there. I'll see if I can find you that torqueflight. I found mine at PAP for $47 and it had been rebuilt at some point. Haha.

There they are. I remember knowing that with ease. Been a while since i studied the 60's and 70's American street cars. Only been focusing on race stuff of late.

Thanx for the knowledge :goodjob:

Although it had been misinterpreted before, I will NEVER sell this car if I'm not forced to for some major reason.

ummm...no. Plum crazy purple is probably one of the most well known colors from the muscle car era, like Hugger orange for a chevy. nobody should need google for that

ALL THE COLORS.

I needed to get the motor in there so it could be on the road by the end of the month so my insurance company can come out for it's appraisal. So, until I have the money to rebuild the 440 it will be running a built 225 slant six. Bored .30 over, custom 4 barrel aluminum intake and some other stuff. Need to get a little more paint work on the engine/valve cover done and a 500 cfm carb for it. But here are two shit pictures.

I have a 440 for it. It was originally a slant six car, I just replaced it with a built slant six since I need to rebuild my 440 and need minor conversion stuff like pedals and a bell housing. That Demon is fucking nice, I love those cars. Best of both worlds, Plymouth Duster and Dodge Dart!

The first time this car has been drivable in roughly two years. The built 225 pulls NICE withOUT the 4 barrel on it. So hopefully Santa will drop a nice 500cfm at my door. :)
