I have in my posession a 1982 Lancia Beta Spyder, they spell "spider" with a "y" to differentiate the "Beta Spyder" from the "Alfa Spider"Alfa Romeo spider that is. I do not have any pictures of it yet so here are some pics I was a able to find on the net. These are what my Beta Spyder will hopefully look like when it is completely restored I do need to weld a new floor pan in but this is a good representation of one if you have never seen one.

props to the photographer who took these pictures
Mine is the exact same color too:D

It has a 2.0 Litre 1995cc 8 valve DOHC motor 8.2 C/R producing 122HP to the ground, and it has an extreemly well handling suspenssion to boot. It also has what is considered the to be the first Antilock breaking system, dont ask me how it works cause I am not quite sure, but it does. It has two front strut tower braces, they connect the struts to the front radiator support, possibly the strongest point:dunno:

A targa top over the front seats and a fold down convertable roof over the rear seats, I guess it was what they tought was what people like in Italy.but that is basicaly what it is

In my mind and others like me the first Gen impreza's are still of old school class, as it is considered to be held in high regards in the rally world as the start of Subarus rise to fame in rally racing and in that it is from an earlier era and is held in high regard there for it is in the rally world "old is kool, old's kool, old skool, or old school".

Your the one who started it here and you need to read the DOT calssification again it says "Classic" is 25 years old I dont like calling people names but you definatly are a "DA" look carfuly and read slower. Old school is not what you think it is. it is a term to descibe an item of High regard from a past era. and the 1990's is a past era.

1. Old School (sp. Ol Skool) is a term that originated sometime in the very early 1990's with the introduction of Hip-Hop (which was the dance anyone could do, originaly consisting of foot-work and had its roots in jazz-funk). Old School refers back to 1984 when break-dancing was at its prime, because so many moves had to be studied and practiced just as one would learn in school.

To "take some-one to school", meant to either teach and instruct them or show by greater example how a move should be properly executed.

Given the new popularity of Hip-Hop in the early 1990's, many of the younger generations only learned how to perform the Hip-Hop moves (those who only knew Hip-Hop were refered to as the New-School).

Note: Anything that took place within the 1990's is refered to as, "back in the day" or "old school" to the new generation..

2. Old School, Originaly the term was first used to differentiate between Break-Dancing and Hip-Hop.

3. An era that is marked by the very first computer generation; those who had the first personal computers (which soley ran off basic language and consisted of no hard drive) like the CoCo, Commodore, Apple, Pong, etc. This era occured after the baby-boomers of 1945-1965.

Why can I not find some Old School B-Boy movies like,"Beat Street" or "Breakin'" ?

If you want to learn about true break-dancing, you should find some-one who dances Old School.

I know your secret too. Paul "ADMIN" told me. but I wont let it out. its our secret now.

I will let you slide with your attitude about what old school is cause to the people who really know, know your wrong. BTW you did read the little yellow lettered sentence in the long previous post that I posted didn't you?

it still doesn't mean I lost anything.

Second...you don't let me slide with anything.

Third...you are the only that agrees with you in the old school "community." I have not seen one person agree with you. I wonder why?

You're so funny with how mad you've gotten because of what you've learned these last few days. It'll be ok. If you want to jopin the old school crowd, fix up that heap..or Lancia you have.

Now leave this alone and move on. Later, QD.

sorry I never see any starions drivin around winder matt is the only person I met with one and his was blue and white. My Wagon is the only old schoool Impreza that drives around winder it is white with a greyish/blue hood and gas cover. I am in winder everyday tryin to find parts for the lancia and visiting my friend and owner of "Automotive Repair Source" and urban dictionary is the only place to find the actual defenition. sorry Quickdodge but the DOT only classifies a "CLASSIC car" not an "old skool ride". Old School does not = Classic yes they are included but there are more than just "classic" in the TERM old school. It is just a TERM and not used regularly, there is no Old's cool except for those who own a vehicle that is held in high regards in the automotive industry and 99-86 is "new old school"but it is still considered old school none the less.
you seen to have the attitude of that guy in "Employee of The Month""THIS IS AN 81 HONDA HOW DARE YOU!!!!" you know the guy who thinks hes all high and mighty.

I hate to even quote such bullshit. Your "yellow" notes at best proves that your car is old to someone who was born in 2000 or later. "The new generation" I wasted two hours of my life at my shop arguing over this same dumb shit. One more time just for old timesake...I think you are a sour grape, whining, mamas boy, That thinks his thoughts are the only correct thoughts. The more you try to prove you are right, the dumber you look. Screw what you think is classic, old school, olds cool, new old skool,(thats an oxymoron), and your just a moron. Once again, if you don't like our qualifications, start your own meet, smarty pants. You told me at the shop, that you didn't want to post in a forum where your impressiveimprezza wasn't welcome. Oh by the way I need to find the sideskirts and front valance for the beta if I can. But as rare as this car is, only 2100 sent to the U.S between 1974 and 1982, I might have to make something from another car I have seen the 87 chevy spectrum front bumper cover on a Beta Coupe It Actualy looks Cool ask MushroomToy he saw it too. I am going to run it without a rear bumper because I dont like divingboard bumpers, if I can find one like the one in the picture i will run it but I am having a hard time with that one too. I will get Pics of one with the Spectrum bumper cover up too cause it is really well restored.
