So i picked this car up back in August. I looked for quite a while for a new car, but was VERY picky. i would only look at a 5spd/rwd car. its just the way i am. i looked at lots. a few Hachis, a super rare 87 T-top mustang, and a few old supras. but none of them were worth what the ppl were asking for. I never even thought abouta Z31. i just really wanted a targa/t-top car. so i went to CL and typed in T-top car and bam this pulled up. Listed for 1800 was an 86 Z31. 5 spd, t-top 2+2. bunch of new parts, new "racing" seats and new tires. plus it had a lug pattern that i could put my mustang cobra wheels on. so i called the guy. 3 days later i drove to downtown ATL to look at her. she was FILTHY, she had been sitting under a tree for 4 months. but she drove good save the blown struts. i went back the next day with $1200 in my hand, and drove it home. Now i cant get this PITA to pass emissions, because when the headers were put on, they didnt hook it up so the EGR valve would function properly....but ill get around it
so yea on to the pics. sry for the quality. Cell phone FTL.
lemme know what youthink

who would have thought that Cobra rims would look better on there then the stock ones...good job...I wanted one of these so bad back in high school in 86...I still think they look better then the new Z's...

Read the rules for this forum! '85 is the cut off! LOL

I think the digital dash is cool. My friend in high school had an 84 turbo two seater, in 1987. We had alot of fun and did some stupid things in that car. Cool choice, you don't see too many of these cars around now

Reasonably Rev, the Z31 started before 85, so it'd be a funny thing to have some but not others of the same model. I certainly don't mind seeing it here, hell, in two or three years AE86's will be as old school as my S30.

I'd love to see some pic's of your blazer. My first ride was a third gen blazer ('94 5-speed) and I have much love for those and earlier Blazers. :-p

I think a more fair rule about it, if you want to use some arbitrary number and cut off at a specific year that might cut a certain model in half, is make it where it has to be able to get a Hobby/Antique plate, so 1983 this year.

PS: Lexi, don't knock Rev on "imports." He knows his shiznit about them imported stuffz.

You can always make your own forum and guidelines. It'll be ok with me. But on this one, 1985 is it. If you would read the guidelines stuck at the top, you'd see that nothing gets "cut in half." And it's quite a fair rule, too. Later, QD.

QD I don't have a problem with your rule (apparently) so why the hostility? Rev is the one that called Lexi out on the '86 Z31 (Which was identical to the one made in '85) and I was just making amiable discussion. Who knew that having a conversation could get such a witty comeback as "Go make your own forum!"

I expect better of you when it comes to putting me in my place. I feel sortof lost and confused, maybe it comes from the fact that I wasn't wrong in the first place.

I defended the Z31 on the basis of your rule that I just went and read. You're right, nothing gets cut in half. Maybe I'm just confused as to why Rev said something about it then. Who knows any more. I'd care more if I wasn't inadvertantly defending Lexi by wanting to defend his car.

I don't consider 86 old school. I honestly don't consider ANYTHING 80's old school. I was just messing with emoz31.

the fact that I wasn't wrong in the first place.

That is myth. Not fact. You were talking about the year cutoff cutting a model in half. You even proved yourself wrong in the below quoted line:

You said:
"Rev is the one that called Lexi out on the '86 Z31 (Which was identical to the one made in '85)"

Now according to the guidelines, 1985 is the cutoff and this will include the same exact model car made after 1985.

Oh and I have no problems with you, either. And I'm not trying to rip you on here.

And Rev, I personally do NOT consider 86 old school. I don't even consider 84 or 85 OS either. But I'm basing this on a well established Old School car show from the WC. Later, QD.

QD: You're right about the fact bit, an improper use of words. I'm now officially lost as to what's going on and bowing out of this conversation, as someone should when they don't know what's going on.

Lastly, I didn't mean to insinuate or provoke, the comment about your insults was made only in jest, and I believe and hope it was taken as such.
