The fighting futures of Kimbo Slice and Gina Carano are in limbo now as word emerged today that mixed-martial-arts organization Elite XC will file bankruptcy and cease future operations, according to an executive consultant of its Los Angeles-based parent company, Pro Elite Inc.

Less than two years after being introduced at a Los Angeles news conference, Elite XC has been knocked out by financial losses estimated at $55 million and by an embarrassing final show on CBS in which star Kimbo Slice was knocked out in 14 seconds.

hope at least ufc or another organization picks up the womens' fighting part at least :( sucks, i liked having all the diff organizations around and they were showing ufc repeats for free b/c of it too :cheers:

No womens fighting in the UFC, won't happen. It's not a bad idea, as Gina does draw well, and Dana does like her a lot, but he really doesn't want womens MMA in the UFC. Some of the other fighters might make their way over to the UFC though. Jake Shields for sure, as it's all but been confirmed on the UG. Also, possibly Robbie Lawler, and Nick Diaz coming back, and hopefully Eddie Alvarez too. Kimbo can go to Bumfights XC. He is now unemployed. I'm gonna try and talk to BJ (Penn) sometime this week, and find out what his brother says, as he was a top dog at EXC after they bought out ROTR. That should give the direction of where many guys are going to.

I wouldn't hold my breath for that one. Dana fucking hates Kimbo. He knows he can't fight, and will never take him.

Dana said if he won a credible fight he would be welcomed into the UFC. Looks like Kimbo is fucked!

Actually, he said that he would let him in the UFC if he wanted to go on TUF and win, just like everyone else. LOL, he would get destroyed by 99% of the TUF cast.

WTF? They didn't lose sponsorship. They lost $55 million dollars of investors money in 2yrs! They also attempted to fix fights, had the worse spokespersons in the world repping them, and had the WORST business plan in the history of MMA. Yes, worse than the IFL, and worse than Affliction. As long as we're talking about a "guy that has never really had any good wins in the MMA world, what wins has Kimbo had? I mean, besides a few fucking bums, who work at the Taco Bell or 7-11 in Miami? In fact, what credentials does Kimbo have at all? He's not accomplished in ANY discipline/martial art. Kimbo is a joke, plain and simple. He got exposed, and even the promotion who tried to FIX the fight in Kimbo's favor, couldn't help him against Seth. Seth has fought in K-1 against bigger, stronger guys than Kimbo. He was able to stand and trade with Bob Sapp, yet Kimbo is supposed to be a big threat to him on his feet? LOL, that's funny. You're right, Seth is a "B" or "C" level fighter...a "B" or "C" level fighter who knocked the hype machine off the tracks in 14 seconds! Back to Bum fights for Kimbo!

X2! I think Dana might change his mind, Gina and some of those girls will bring a huge audience. Look at what her fights did for NBC from EliteXC.

A big payday for ufc will trump anything Dana White says because at the end of the day its about getting paid for all parties believe that.

it wont be much of a payday at all. Brock has already proven to be a legitimate UFC fighter while Kimbo got KO's in 14 seconds by a late pick on TUF. Kimbo vs Brock would be an early televised fight and would be over in less than 1 minute. Just remembe what Brock did to Frank Mir in that short time before he got caught.

Haha, I kinda enjoyed the free shows. Never expected UFC/Pride quality fights out of Elite Xc but it was usually pretty fun to watch.

No great loss but we need somebody to put on a Carrano-Cyborg fight.

It doesn't matter what kind of money it would draw. Dana White new from the start that a Kimbo fight would be a sell out crowd, but he didn't take him. He has no reason to, Kimbo would get shit on in the UFC.

And to everyone saying "Petruzelli is a scrub it was set up blah blah blah" step in the ring with him and see what happens. He has way more credibility than Kimbo EVER did. Him knocking Kimbo the fuck out was the best thing to ever happen in mma, maybe everyone will wake the fuck up now.

the more logical reason why dana didn't take him is because elite xc paid him a ridiculous amount of money to fight for them and dana wasn't ready to give that kind of money to a unproven fighter and now that risk just paid off because where else does kimbo have to go??? Little note don't believe shit dana white says to the media.

Dana wasn't ready to give ANY money to Kimbo whatsoever. From the beginning he always said if Kimbo proved himself he could get his chance, and he didn't. I very highly doubt Kimbo will ever make it to the UFC.
