I picked this sucker up last night at about midnight. I already fell in love with it.
Its an 86, S4 NA. Has 118k on it, many things done.

Suspension: Aftermarket springs 1.5 inch drop street springs, Tokiyo (sp?) shocks. Cuzco sway bars. (Rear sway bar is the 3 piece cuzco... 3 are in america and I own one of them :D)

Engine: Has a aftermarket header and stainless 3 inch cat back, again I can't remember the name of it. I will find out when I meet back up to grab a few extra parts.

Interior: Stripped. Two front seats and a dash. I am putting most of the interior back together, I know its weight but I could care less with an LS1 going in.

Exterior: Needs some waxing here and there, Needs driver fender, door and some work on the rear quarter panel.

So... Pictures!

Comments....

This is my first Rotary/Mazda car. Had many S13s, now I am on to something new. I am planning on making an LS1 with good suspension sort of a weekend car.

Better gas mileage, more than enough power stock, and I can go to napa when something breaks.

From that perspective, can't argue with it. I just like rotaries.

This is my first rotary motor and I love it. However, Rotary motors have known to be un reliable and if I want power I might as well get reliable as well. Thus Ill stick to my Bow Tie Legacy and put a loud american V8 in there just to irritate people lol :taun:

N/A's a super reliable. Very hard to blow; however, they don't tend to have a lot of torque for a reasonably heavy chassis. Since you know nothing about rotarys, considering a V8 isn't bad. If you want to go the cheap route, Grannys allow you to put in a SBF or SBC with not much difficulty.
For a N/A chassis, I would conside going V8 before putting a T2 setup in it. You will need to change the rear end though on the car. Pretty much, you will only use the shell. You will need to upgrade almost everything else.

You should give the rotary a chance. They're not known for being unreliable, they're believed to be unreliable. If there's anything one should know, it's that they got a bad reputation from idiots buying them not knowing how to break one in, or that they burn oil and it needs to be added every now and then, or worse, the "I'm going to give it 40 pounds of boost with no tune then bitch when it stops running" people.

Looks like a nice project! I'd keep it rotary if I were you tho. Interesting rear strut bar you have there. Congrats on the FC man.

Thanks for the comments. I do love the rotary more and more each day because of how I can rev it up real high and just keep going. I would have to find a way to buy a reliable 20b (FD motor right?) and rock that if any other rotary motor goes in the car. If not, Ill do a LS1 pretty cheap. It aint nuttin but a Toyota 4x4 but smaller. It can't be that bad lol

Lol 20B is a 3 rotor Cosmo engine. only sold in Japan. The FD has a 13B-REW, a twin turbocharged 13B.

Looks like fun. Go with whatever motor you want, man. If you don't know a lot about rotaries then go ls1, although learning to maintain a rotary isn't really hard. Just do you, you're gonna have entirely too much fun with it no matter what route you choose.

Then again I am a HUGE fan of S54 motors...

Since my motor swap ( S5 turbo motor that was rebuilt and ported) I have not had a problem out of it. If you take care of it they run great. congrats on the purchase.

His is a N/A - not much power without porting or nitrous.

His is a N/A - not much power without porting or nitrous.I was about to argue the fact with my car, but I forgot that FCs are pigs so that's probably true. Also, your quoting of me makes my post look to have an enTIREly different meaning haha.
