new bike

so i got my first bike today.its a 2006 ninja 250r :thinking: ..kinda a handme down.but good to learn how to ride on you know..well.i know it needs a new bike tire but it wont start.so im charging the battery now..to see.are there any other problems that might not let it start..and what if when its charged it still doesn't start but just clicks.any one have any experience with what im talking about?
