once the GT-R's transmission blows the r32 will blow right past him, but seriously i think the rb26 is a beast and in the r32s lighter body it should with minimal mods IMO

a rb26, no matter if it's in a 32, 33, 34, or even a kgc will dominate
nissan failed by not continuing the rb legacy

No nissan didn't. Someone was smart enough to realize that a long I6 with an Iron bottom end is not the best setup. Therefore they used 3.0 TTv6 and 4.5 Na v8s afterward. Remember, in the real world, turning left and right matters and for RB26 and 2JZ racers realized they were at a disadvantage.

RB => Raise Boost :D
R32 will forever be my favorite car GTS-T or GTR. is the frickin best evar!
It always comes a time to move forward, and advance... and old/motors/setups have to be left behind to make way for better technology, and a changing world/driver.

i guess Chevy never got that memo. Pushrods anyone?
Considering the NEW GTR makes almost 450whp, and the old RB26 in stock trim was lucky to make 320whp, stock versus stock, R35 hands down in every aspect from turning to straight line to interior quality.
I think their idea to abandon the RB series is simple, the USA NEVER HAD RB SERIES MOTORS.
We already had the VQs in the Infinity line from the SUVs to the G35, and then the 350Z.
They wanted to bring the R35 to American, why not build upon their already existing format.
The RB was retired in 99 if im not mistaken or whenever the last R34 was. We had no skyline for along time, when they decided to make it, they had new series of engines available in the USA and Japan. Why bring out something you already had stopped making?

Nissan designed the RB26 in the late 80's and it was built as a race engine for group A. The first GTR was just a homoligation machine and it wasn't thought to be much more than that. Obviously as a race engine, it was never gonna pass emissions in the usa. And that was in the early 90's.

which is exactly my point, they had an old, non emissions compliant engine , why put it in their new supercar coming to the USA?
why when you already had a VQ format that was making money an doing well and was US compatible.
The BNR32 will always be my favorite GT-R.

And they will continue to. Besides, calling Pushrods outdated can only be done when they are proven to be such. With cars like the Z06, ZR1 and C6R, You cant do that.

That's debatable. Pushrod V8's haven't really advanced that far down the food chain, the companies that make them stock have. GM used to have a lock-down on how many horses a stock car could make. The ZR1's horsepower rating isn't really that spectacular out of the engine it's in, I've seen the same kind of power out of a 350sbc with a super with decently built internals. Saying pushrods are "outdated" is similar to calling solid rear axles outdated. Perhaps they are, but the important part is that they are A.) Cheap and B.) Work. This fulfills all the qualifications neccessary to make a car work.

I definitely think any previous model Skyline could be built to beat a GTR. The r32 has the best shot at it though.

Pushrods have come a long way in the last 20 years. They can rev past 7,000 rpm even though all the stress is on one cam. They are also very important to G.M. and Chrysler. I fully understand that a modern dohc is not even a comparison but like you said, very few things are proven like a V8 Chevy.

Who forgot about the r32? I don't think anyone has forgotten about it, but the newer ones are newer and thus more relevant.
Your question is dumb, if you throw enough money into a geo metro it'll out perform a gt-r

The R34 is 10+ years old (?) and the R32 is 18ish years old (?)... you really think they'd just now be getting around to pairing them up in a race?
Maybe tomorrow they will race a Chevelle SS396 against a LS1 camaro.

the R32 is not a PIG like the GTR, so a lil boost and it'll destroy a GTR.
