View Full Version : 97 civic 1.6 wierd rattling noise (VIDEO)

Ok, so I have this rattling noise.. at certain RPM. at 1400-1500 and between 2800-3100 rpm.

thats the are i cruise at (2800 rpm) and the rattling noise is BAD.
one mechanic said its most likely that thing under the shield. with bunch of layers etc.

heres the vid. (the car is rev'ed to 2800) you can hear the rattling.

take the shield off the top part of the header and check the shield on the bottom of the car

either shield or convertor, or something in the tranny shield ..Your vid sucks best to hear it in person

Just ride without it, alot of people do! Just buy a Header...lolol

yea id get a header and move that cat down under the car in the normal position. that way it would still pass inspection or whatever. Dont have to worry about inspection here in rome so we slap a header and test pipe on! haha

well i went to the Emission test yesterday
and i passed..

so what do you guys recommend now ? buy header? and do what now ?

im pretty clueless about these things.. (thats why i came to you masters).

.......Just take off the heat shield......and your problem is solved. and please dont ask how to. Its common sense. Take off the bolt thats holding it and your done.
