Ok so if you didnt know my uncle passed away Wednesday. It was unfortunate but after battling cancer for 10 years he lived a long, great life. He made the best of his life and now hes living it up above watching over our family

Well the funeral is Friday at 10am at :

St Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church Hastings, MN

Ya Hastings MN. 1129 miles away.

Googlemaps states 18 hours, but my only problem is that I have a midterm tomorrow night. I will be getting out at 9-9:30 pm. So that give me right at or a little under 14 hours to get there.

My question to you guys is, do you think I can make it? I am hoping I can get out of the midterm a little early, maybe 830 but that would be if I finish it in 45 minutes.

Wish me luck. Either way I will be prepping the S tonight, oil level, radiator fluid levels, doing a valve adjustment, specing the spark plugs, checking tire pressure, throwing fix-a-flat in the trunk, and finally, blue tape'n the front of the car.

Wish me luck and let me know if you think I can actually make it in time...I hope so

oh wow.
mad props to you if you can go that long non stop.
especially in the S too. you'll make it in 14 hours if you drive 80 mph the whole way..
that being said.. drive safe and smart

I did between 70-90 as the speed limit and weather allowed and I only stopped for gas and would only stop to relieve myself during the gas stops.

I'm not sure that you can make it to be honest. Sorry that I couldn't give you the asnwer you wanted, bro.

its cool i want a straight answer. I will try to talk to my teacher if I can change my midterm to an earlier time then it would give me more like 15-17 hours to get there. then I could actually drive and not be in a panic the entire time

well, not that I think about it..

is possible... but it depends from what part of Jersey.. If he was coming from South of Jersey, way down close to the line of the state came straight down 95... to the FLORIDA STATE line.. then I think he has a chance

thats what I am thinking. I will probably leave right after work tomorrow...then that would give me almost 20 hours to get there...then I could actually sleep....lol in the S at a rest area....lol

I guess its good to be a heavy sleeper sometimes...

Well I will be bringing my camera too. I will photograph my entire trip. I may take a scenic route home

And if you think about it, there's no reason for the professor to deny you taking it earlier. Later would be more understandable, but you gain nothing by taking it earlier in the day. Good luck.

have fun sleeping in your S...upright! Haha!

I had to do that once, what I did was got into the passenger cause it has more leg room, move the seat as far forward as possible to your comforts so you can recline the seat back a little bit...

But, I don't know how tall you are man. Goodluck!

dtmcnamara
10-15-2008, 10:31 PM
6'2 and I have a roll bar so take an extra 2-4 inches out of the recline...o well

Car maintainance has been done. everything is topped off, clothes are packed. and the car is tapped off for tomorrows 1100 miles drive...lol

MR2DR
10-16-2008, 01:22 AM
to prevent rock chips etc..

dtmcnamara
10-16-2008, 05:27 AM
yep....blue tape runs FTW

When your about to do almost 2,500 miles in 3 days its almost a must. I will save my paint at least 20 chips..lol

Looks like you have all the bases covered. Smart thinking.
You need to pack some jumper cables, misc tools in case you need to fix anything along the way, and a reserve gas containe, filled of course. Also, get some road flares if you don't have any.

If you're driving straight through or for long portions of time, try not to eat heavy foods i.e, junkfood so you don't get drowsy and or have to stop and use the restroom unnecessarily. Also get an extra battery for your cell.

dtmcnamara
10-16-2008, 12:11 PM
thanks. I got a little craftsman tool case with me along with the mornal screw drivers, plyers ect ect....I do have a few road lights that are always with me. Got the fix a flax, spare tire and my GPS unit.

WIsh me luck I am throwing everything in the car and leaving in 30 minutes.

I will hit yall back up when I get there. hopefully around 5-6am tomorrow morning...LOL

DAMN this is going to be fun

i'm pretty sure the instructor would be a little forgiving on the fact that you're going to a funeral. just drive safe.
