Well the build begins on my E36 325is Pro-IT car. For a lot people on here, racing is something they want to get into. Well I figured I would make a thread to show just what it takes to build a road race car from start to finish and everything else you will need.
As some of you know, I picked the car up from San Francisco and drove it back. After getting the car back, it wasnt but a week and stuff started coming out. My plans are to build the car to the Improved Touring rules for ITR. My plans are to have the car ready for Santa Run 09 at little talladega.
I'll start out with what the car looked like when the previous owner had it both new and when I picked it up.

DAY 1- Oct. 13, 2008
So last night Brad (Chummy) and I started taking out the interior. We are taking out the heater core, A/C controls, Radio, speakers, and pretty much anything else that doesn't have to be there.
Sorry for the bad pictures. From last night...

Pretty surprised at how far we got last night. Looks like its got a long way to go until its finished but if we continue to move at this pace it should be done before December 7th

the min. weight for the car is 2765 lbs. with driver. I would guess that the weight of the car is 2600 or so now. but the front half of the cage will make up for most of that.

looks like a ton of fun. but hey, if your not wanting any interior peices you can always use LEAD. get big chunks of lead, and shave off the weight you dont need. drill them into the floor board and it will make you weigh what you need to and as long as you distribute them properly it wont throw your weight off.
