I think i could be in some trouble. Few months back my friend bought a car but he had reached the limit to how many cars he could register on him self this year. So by saying this, he couldn't sign the title and asked me to sign it. Me being his friend, i said "WTH ill do it". He said that his dead would sign the tittle on the bottom as if i re-sold the car to him.

Well my day went fine today, thx for asking. Than i get a phone call, its him my friend. But when i answered the phone, it was his dad on the phone. His dad tells me some shiznet like this" Hey man, you're that guy that signed the tittle for my son. Well we are having hard time to register the car, and now you need to get a new tittle on your name, than re-sell the car to us" I go wtf man, are you fucking serious. I instantly wanted to talk with his son, my friend. But guess what, my buddy got sent to a camp by court for alot of driving offences.

Now i gotta take a day off, go to the registration place and register the car on my name and as soon as i get the new tittle, i gota re-sell the car to him. And i dont even know if i will be able to register the car.

The car hasnt been registered since they bought it, 3-4 months.

Did anyone ever deal with something like this?

CLIFFS:

I sign a tittle for my friend
3 motnhs later i get a phone call saying that the car is illegal
I could go to jail

I mean I don't think you can get in trouble its just basically signing the car over to someone else as if he was buying it from you .

Yea but 2 people signed the title(i signed the main Buyer section), thats why it may be hard for me to register the car.

shouldn't be that big of a deal... worst case scenario you will just have to get an affidavit of corrections and find a crooked notary to put their seal on it....

sticky situation. you will have to pay the back taxes. make sure you don't get screwed over by this guy. if you know any car sales people ask one of them what to do.

Well depending where the car is registered, emissions may not be required. Just sucks to becuase in order for you to register it, your going to have to insure it as well

Just get it registered. Sounds like your "friend" has more to worry about.

tittle :)

"what's all the tittle about?" sounds like a way to use that word. lol
